For 15mm, we make compromises
Might make it a pain to re-flash later

Sure, I've done it before.

I tried to (quick) read the entire post to find FW3A switch board or contact board but couldn’t find any.
Is it still a rare part?

Nice! I'm attempting to order from PCBWay - $5 + $8 e-packet shipping for qty 5, total $13. Decent price, no rush.

Looks like PCBWay has to do an approval on the order first. Thinking they will take PP. They also offer a ton of options - hoping the defaults are good for us.

Take 10pcs - same price ! ;))

Yea, I see that now - thought it didn't work before, but I was tweaking settings.

Unfortunately after the review, they raised the price from $5 to $15. Dunno - I'm re-submitting with qty 10, maybe I made a mistake before.

Ok, this time with qty 10, the price stayed the same . Looks like they give you choice of colors for the solder mask and silkscreen, but won't take the chance of changing anything now...

Transaction went thru! Also added a $5 coupon, figure it was for first time order, so total cost with e-packet shipping was $9, including a $1 PP fee they added.

Not Bad!

Took a while, but received the PCBWay order today! It's 11 boards, ordered 10. Had to think what the boards were for, til I found this thread

D10-D25 headlamp...Of course!

Hello guys, I am looking for 17mm linear driver based on Attiny 13a with added SMD diode (0603 size) and proper resistor to indicate “ON” state (torch is based on IR led wavelenght, so beam is not visible).

I am preparing a project for my friends and I need to add an ON indicator for a simple clicky switch style flashlight, so I a decided to simply drill a little hole to the tube in the driver spring area and let the light from the diode get through - I did this before with use of extra diode and resistor (not SMD) to the standard Nanjg 105c but I would like to have it neater “on board”.

Would be someone skillful able to help me by adjusting some of the existing projects? I need 7pcs of 7135 to be left (2450mA) on the driver. I will sure compensate your time spent on this…

Thank you!
d.

If your using a rear click tail switch, why not just go with a lighted tail cap? It will go off when the light is on…will be lit when the light is off… just a thought….

. Too Bad (Led4Power) Neven’s store isn’t open yet. He even had some that had LVP added to them. They come in different colors and you have choices of set-up brightness. I use them on several of mine and changed the resistors to decrease/increase the brightness of the tail cap switch….

Thanks, but I would like to keep the indication as small as possible and the logic “switch on = diode lights” as well.

Courui FET+1

Support!

The TA drivers apparently do not work with 12V or 4S battery configuration. Is there any FET driver on Oshpark that supports 4S?

Also, is there any board with two FET footprints like the Haikelite MT09R driver has it?

The 7135's are the problem at 6V or 12V - they usually will either right away or eventually die. So, TA designed a driver with a bank of resistors to replace the 7135. So the 12V 4S battery TA driver with the resistor bank should work fine. It's been well tested and shipped in production lights.

Haikelite is doing something similar to replace the 7135, but much simpler circuitry, so it works with Anduril for FET+1's (Q8 hardware config) quite nicely. Not sure who designed it, if it was Lexel or another BLFer, or Haikelite.

Of course with any driver over 3-4V you need an LDO instead of a D1 diode, but we've been using LDO's for years in OSHPark BLF designed drivers.

Should be noted we were getting away with FET+1 (single 7135) drivers with LDO's for lights like the L6 for years. For 6V and relatively low amps (single LED), the better 7135's seem to hold up but I wouldn't count on them lasting.

Thanks for the nice explanation, Tom E. :+1:

I know the TA drivers with resistor bank but I have never found them on Oshpark. Is there any possibility to get the PCBs of these drivers to solder them myself?

Does that mean I could flash the MT09R driver with the BLF Q8 Anduril?

Ohh, yes, could be TA didn't publish the design for public access. Could be for technical reasons, but also it's probably only available in large sizes.

MT09R? Not sure. But I recently flashed the HL HK4S with Anduril2 and used a FET+1 configuration, same as the Q8, and it's working pretty well.

This is the HK4S driver:

and my notes on it:

That Q4 chip and associated circuit acts as a 7135.

Would love to see oshpark shares of such designs.

Can confirm about 7135s in 2S config. My L6 has a fet+1 and works great (if slightly strange behavior - the 7135 channel actually gets brighter as battery voltage decreases). However, when I tried the same in my SP70, the 7135 blew nearly immediately. I need to reopen that light, remove the 7135, and reflash to only use the FET…

I've done exactly that before - FET only, but never got the low level output to ramp smoothly - didn't spend much time on it, so there's probably a fix, even if the fix is to eliminate some of the low level output levels. My modded 16X XHP50.2 6V light looked pretty cool on the 7135 at lowest moon, LED's just glowed, but the 7135's didn't last too long.
