raccoon city's Favorite Knives, with pics! All Kershaw (except for two) so far.

Yea, says same for me but my state (NC) definitely has no restrictions…maybe they are just out of stock or something.

No, it just let my order go through

Ugh!! I’m jealous :person_facepalming: lol…all the other knives on there let me add and go through checkout fine other than that one…no idea…

Here is my favorite knife I own

Kershaw Believer 2070!

This knife is really nice, and the clip is great as well.

It seems a little small after carrying the Oblivion, but I like it a lot.

I have learned that adjusting the pivot screws of knives can make them open up much better.

I will no longer ask sellers if the assisted-opening fires hard.

I'll just buy knives when the price is right and hope that if they don't open up very well that adjusting the pivot screw can be just what the doctor ordered.

(I wish I would have figured that out years ago.

I sold a bunch of knives that didn't fire hard, and I probably could have just adjusted the pivot screw instead.)

Adjusting the pivot and scale screws can also help center the blade (if that’s important to you).

I also polish bronze washers when I have the knife apart, especially for non-assisted knives. The washers are stamped (usually) and rounding out the slight burr and polishing the surface can improve action. I usually wet sand on 1000 grit sandpaper, then rub it around on a stropping block with chromium oxide to get a mirror finish.

Thanks for the info!

I've never had a knife so off-center that it bothered me, so I am guessing that centering the blade is not a top priority for me.

personal favorite, special edition mini griptilian:

my only Kershaw, since I gave away my Skyline:

Mnandi clone

just make sure that you don’t make it too loose and get side to side movement.

Though I’d put these here, since budget don’t fit this pair…
How about some Damascus?

Now This is a Knife!
A Randall Smithsonian Bowie.

All the Best,
Jeff

I only own a few nice knives, this is my favorite:

Kershaw Flythrough 1988

I’ve owned few kershaws but I didn’t really like any of them. You get what you pay for and for budget price you get soft steel and heavy knives - opposite of what I want.

Ruby is nice and feels premium in hand but what was to be a beautyful knife looks like “gas station knife” because all that fugly writings on it. They never learned what subtilty means.

Had few Benchades, some were good others were not. Contego had blade-rock from day one and that is not acceptable in that price range. Grips are excellent, love them. Crooked River is a peace of art but never gets used. Bailout and Bugout are out of this world good, really love them.

Spydercos are all fugly but I actually love them for good steel choices and lightweight. Endura is my EDC for years now, Delica was good, Caly also.

And then there’s Cold Steel. Man I despise CS for what the represent, stupid and over the top claims and that fatboi Lynn trying to be a ninja whilst chopping heads…eeewww. But they do make good knives, some are excellent. I had an American Lawman in cts xhp that was modded (like all my knives) and loved it. Streight clip, no liners, good steel, thin blade, removed the finger groove so grip was excellent and modified tri-ad lock to make it easyer to close.

Kershaw Payout 2075!

I received this knife today, and it's my favorite knife of all time.

I have owned scores of knives, and this one takes the cake.

It's also the most expensive knife that I have bought by a small margin.

It opens so well, and it has a very nice heft to it, and it's a large knife, and the clip is great.

What's surprising to me is that it's made in China.

Before today, my favorite knives of all time were all made in the USA.

They weren't a whole lot better than my favorite knives made in China, but they were better.

...

One strange thing about this knife is that with my screwdriver set, I could not adjust the pivot screw.

I have a larger screwdriver set somewhere, but I don't know where it is, and I haven't seen it in years.

But what's really important is that I absolutely love this knife.

Kershaw Cannonball 2061!

I received this knife yesterday.

It's pretty good, but it's not one of my very favorites.

It has a short clip on it that I thought I wouldn't like, but it's fine.

It kinda reminds me of my Cryo II BlackWash, but with better steel.

Necrobump...

Kershaw Al Mar AM-4 2330!

I received this knife today.

I like it a lot, and it looks very classy in person.

Im thinking about the cryo II. looks good and im in the market for a folder knife.

Kershaw Snap-On SO82RD!

This is my most expensive knife.

It was advertised as brand new.

It's a kinda rare knife with a N690 stonewashed blade.

I paid about $60 plus tax.

The knife is very nice.

It was advertised as new, but there's obvious wear on the clip.

Other than that, it looks new.

It's still a good deal in my book.

This is one of my most favorite knives, and I think it has the best steel of all my knives.

Necrobump!
Kershaw Lucid 2036!

I really like this knife.
I’m not too crazy about the texture of the glass filled nylon (the blue part), but that’s a minor complaint.
This knife is one of the best looking knives that I own.
(I like the shade of blue and the blade shape.)
I’ll probably EDC this knife for a while, but then I’ll eventually revert back to my favorite knife.
Still, this knife is pretty darn good.

I just saw this old thread. Interesting just the same.
I have a Leek 1660CB. It is a laminate with D2 on the edge and Sandvik 14C28N for the spine.
I like the D2 for edge retention … and it looks cool.
Great little knife. The best I have for cleaning finger nails :+1:
I have 4 different models of leek, but the 1660CB is my favorite

I was surprised to see that the knife is still being sold.

https://www.amazon.com/Kershaw-Composite-1660CB-Reversible-Pocketclip/dp/B0017KN4MS

Though a lot more expensive than when I bought mine, maybe 10 years ago…
I also have the Cryo 1555Ti and 1556Ti knives. Can’t beat the price per quality ratio. A bit heavy for their size, but still nice!

I have three more knives to add to the list.
I acquired these knives about a week ago.
I’ll list them from most to least favorite.

My favorite of the bunch is the Kershaw Rove 1965.

This is the one that I have been EDC’ing for about a week.
The handle of this knife is thicker than most (all?) of my other knives, and for some reason I like that.
This knife has very good ergonomics, and the assisted-opening is excellent.

The next one is the Kershaw Lithium 2049.

This is a fairly weird looking knife, but I do like it.
The blade shape is kinda weird as well.
I like how most of the handle is steel, but part of the handle is glass-filled nylon.

My third favorite is the Kershaw Westin 3460.

This knife seems like an assisted version of the Enlan EL-01, though there are other differences than just the assisted action.
The assisted-opening of this knife is kinda stiff, but other than that I like the knife.
