Some designs, are just that, designs.
And while i approve having a little edge over the monochrome mess we all are engulfed in, then some times the urge to be different bother me a little too, feel like people are trying too hard.
And those thumb studs, i am not too crazy about those.

I also find myself getting annoyed with designs that strain to just be “different” as eye candy, not as a matter of function. I have been seduced and then disappointed. I tend to go more conservative now, although occasionally something catches my eye. This narrows down the pool and thus minimizes excess knife buying!

Blasphemer! There is never excess knife buying, shop less often and buy more knives.

Yeah some of the designs are out there and some are rather good. I also am limiting the eye candy designs and going back to more form and function.
I didn’t actually carry this today, but I do strap it to my belt when I’m at the cabin.
My brother-in-law is trying to start a business as a knife maker, and this is one of his earlier attempts. He also made the sheath. It’s a great knife, but the stuff he makes now is way beyond this.
It took a lot less time to get to my favorite knife brand and technology than with flashlights. CRKT flippers with LAWKS are my EDCs. I need to take a family picture!
I’m an ooold Gerber man a Benchmade mini barrage carrier and when I got medicalled out I had carried a Gerber bolt action for over twenty years. Got a Gerber Paul that has never even cut my thumb. Looks like I’ll be widening out in ways other than my waist as well as shrinking my wallet lol
Very nice! Looks like the ergonomics are suited for larger hands and blade shape is a handsome design. From the photos, it looks like there is a lock bar over-travel stop and deep carry pocket clip; small but important features. Kershaw D2 steel is also consistent in quality and heat treat.
By screwdriver set, do you mean using Torx bits or other shape? Because it sounds like you own many knives but recently started to adjust the screws, it definitely is worth having a high quality Torx set like Wiha. I’ve nearly stripped screws and snapped Torx bits when I used what I thought were high quality bits sold by Benchmade in the blue box. Having higher quality bits ensure a good snug fit in the grooves and strength to overcome excessive factory thread locker.

Ah, gotcha. When I bought my Wiha set, I ended up getting a second because some of my knives have non-captive pivots and standoffs. Because they spin in place, they required using one bit to hold one side while I torqued the other side with a second bit. I’m a stickler for blade centering, so I did use both sets quite often.

Good point.
I've noticed that some of my knives require two Torx bits, so I'll have to order two sets like you did.
I almost fell of my chair today, reading that the highest temperature for Denmark in September was a whopping 32.2 degrees C ( 89 deg / F ), thats almost the all time record high here.
I wouldn’t mind a little of weather like that, cuz at my friends house the railway track we still have to put down is right where rain seem to want to pool, and i would rather sweat my ass off than have wet feet from working in a puddle.
payout dont look too bad, though i could do without that grind on the back of it, or at least a lesser grind.
Also the size, 8.9 CM is about as small as i would like to go,,,,, okay not quite but there about.
Funny… when you wrote “you like?,” I couldn’t help but think of this guy:
I like the “arc” shape with the line following through from handle to blade.
That was who I was thinking too and I have co-workers that also use this phrase…LoL

The “Strong Lock” is super fun to fidget with. Just watch your fingers because the blade swings completely free.

Kershaw Payout 2075!
I received this knife today, and it's my favorite knife of all time.
I have owned scores of knives, and this one takes the cake.
It's also the most expensive knife that I have bought by a small margin.
It opens so well, and it has a very nice heft to it, and it's a large knife, and the clip is great.
What's surprising to me is that it's made in China.
Before today, my favorite knives of all time were all made in the USA.
They weren't a whole lot better than my favorite knives made in China, but they were better.
...
One strange thing about this knife is that with my screwdriver set, I could not adjust the pivot screw.
I have a larger screwdriver set somewhere, but I don't know where it is, and I haven't seen it in years.
But what's really important is that I absolutely love this knife.

It's a cheap screwdriver set with Torx bits along with other types of bits.
It has worked on all of my other Kershaw knives (that I have tried) except the Kershaw Payout.
Apparently the Kershaw Payout uses a Torx bit that is between the sizes that I have.
I think I'll look into getting a higher quality Torx/screwdriver set (with more sizes.)

In my part of Palm Desert, which is the very southern part, it's supposed to be 120° today, 119° tomorrow, and 120° on Monday.
Luckily the dew point should be below 55°, so we can run the swamp cooler.
I think the entire state of California is having a heat wave this weekend, so no one in the state will be spared.
Daily records will be broken in lots of places (including here) this holiday weekend.

As long as we don't lose power for very long, we should be fine.
During the summer months, that's usually our biggest worry, but luckily the power doesn't go out very often.
