I’d like to find a light like one I had back in the eighties.
In about 1983, I got a backpacking flashlight that was just a little bit bigger than a CR123 cell. The back part was translucent colored plastic, and the front was clear, with an O-ring between the two parts.
There was a reflector and halogen lamp, and you turned the light on by screwing the front on all the way and off by unscrewing it. I think there was a lanyard ring on the back.
Very minimal, but also very small and lightweight.
Anyone have any idea what this was or where I might find one?
Tekna Splash-Lite? They came in different colors. They still make an LED version:
I have the older (lower output) led version and an incan. They are nice. The incan used a #222 style screwbase bulb. There was also a bigger 1x123 light that used a bi-pin bulb but I don’t think it is what you are thinking of. It looked sort of like this in general styling, but was usually black, I think:
Yes I was thinking the same thing, still have a few of these I believe, OP didn’t say what battery his light was, only “just a little bit bigger than a CR123 cell”
