Despite it’s modern appearance, the first Stalwart in fact saw light of day way back in 1959. It was not, however, until 1966 that the vehicle entered service with the British Army. It’s role was that of general amphibious transport truck, many units being fitted with a hydraulic crane and raised central canvas tilt support.
The DUKW 6×6 Amphibious Utility Vehicle is typically just referred to as the “Duck” after its official name “DUKW” – a US Military code for its design: “D” means designed in 1942, “U” means utility, “K” means all-wheel drive, and “W” means dual-tandem rear axles.
Ok since it was a bit early, and popular I’ll kinda continue it, with a twist. Since the winning photo was a concept car, I’d like to see photo’s of ANY concept car / motorcycle / van / lorry etc - but from any year.
