Hi there, just bought Convoy M21A with KW CSLPM1.TG led and now realising maybe I went wrong with the batteries… I got 2 different vapcells 21.5 * 70.8mm and 21.1*70.5mm sizes… And since I also want to buy upcoming L21a,culpm1.tg light, my question is will these batteries fit? I read that all l21a-s are now coming with 22mm inner tube (altough aliexpress description about l21a states not to use rewrapped cells eventough they should fit now, maybe they just havent updated info) but didnt find any info about m21a… So maybe Simon himself or someone else can clarify whats the tube size of m21a. Long story, but appreciate any help!
Interested also to find that information out before I purchase.
So far, I have tested these “21700”-using Convoy flashlights (but I got them much earlier, some are probably last year), and these are my results:
S12 = fits Lii-40A
I haven’t tested these models (or newer batches of the above models): S21B

Simon Mao , I think you need a bit of help here. If you want your flashlights to satisfy all your customers, you must bear in mind your flashlights need to fit the entire range of available cells they are supposed to fit.
You just cannot presume your customers are going to use “only this or that battery”, this is wrong my dear. In one way or another many of your customers are buying cells from reputable chinese OEMs like Far East Battery (example ), or Lishen . Once rewrapped by 3rd parties the cells from these manufacturers measure up to ∅21.7mm . Play it safe, add an extra 0.5% or 1% to that figure and make sure the 21700 tubes of your flashlights are bored (drilled) to at least ∅21.8mm or ∅21.9mm. If your flashlights can accept all sorts of 21700 cells everyone will be satisfied, diameter or tube bore is paramount in this regard.
uh ,inner diameter has been changed to 22mm ，It’s just that some styles sell slowly, it is still the first batch, the inner diameter is still 21.5mm

Looking forward to this. Should hit around 370kcd if driven hard.
Please, 3 x 21700 using flat top batteries. 21700 cells will get more attention in terms of developing high drain cells.

The only issue with using flat top cells in a 3x21700 light is that inherently those designs have a “ring” for the driver (see: SP36, Q8, MS06 etc) - it’d need an adapter like the one in the 4x18A with brass slugs to work. I’m all for that though! (I still want to buy that adapter by itself……)

High drain cells won’t be necessary with a single 90.2 in this light. Turbo would only be about a 2C discharge rate
Thank you, the idea of some triple 21700’s is encouraging. A Convoy 4X18A or 3X21A flashlight gives a few great LED options like Luminus SBT-90 or triples.
Awesome! There are only few 21700 button top cells on the market, mostly proprietary batteries with a PCB from Imalent, Klarus, Acebeam etc.. These batteries are very expensive, though. So, let's please stick with support for standard 21700 cells that are flat top or even with a recessed top (see "Tesla" batteries sold by Vapcell). Thanks for the great work, Simon!

Looks really nice. Apart from the design of the 2, is there any difference in beam profile?
4x18A and SBT90.2…
