Terrible Experience with Sofirn

An admin can probably confirm I’m a new user. Just browsed the home page because I wanted to see if there was a list of BLF lights and saw top of the list a sofirn problem post, and atm I mostly only want to buy sofirn so took a look.

Edit: tip for op and anyone concerned, use PayPal on dodgy sites you don’t think you’ll have any recourse on.

It’s definitely wise to not charge back/dispute until exhausting all avenues as you might want to make another purchase, but disputing burns that bridge. In the case of sofirn you can only get certain tints direct so it’s worth maintaining that relationship.

I dont know what contract you are referring to. When you ship an item with USPS you dont have a contract. You are paying for a service. There is no guarantee made that the product will arrive at destination.

A contract of sale, that they’ll do what they said they’ll do (perform on that contract).

Every transaction is a contract. Price labels in a shop are “offers of contract” which is why they have to sell something for a lower price if the price label is wrong.

If I sent something on ebay, I pay the carrier, I have to make the enquiries if it doesn’t arrive, I have to pursue the insurance money if applicable. A recipient can make some enquiries too but the onus is on me the sender to make sure I get my moneys worth.

Yes, this is how it works.

USPS is to blame but the seller is the only one who can attempt to get insurance payment from USPS and resend.

OP, I heard USPS has GPS mark where they scan out packages. You can call your local office and ask for them to check that info.
A neighbor mostly likely got it by mistake and hopefully puts it back in their box because i doubt USPS can kick in doors ’ WHERES THAT PACKAGE I LEFT IN YER BOX BY MISTAKE?’

You should start with the USPS. Call your local PO and tell them you did not receive the package, but tracking says it was delivered, then give them the tracking number. Whatever carrier that tripped the “package delivered” flag also took a GPS reading, and so the PO can tell precisely where the package was delivered. Sounds like it was delivered to the wrong address. The PO will go get your package and redeliver.

Some confusion here, OP says USPS shows package delivered and Jackie (who seems to be a Sofirn rep - see post #15) says “the package was dispatch by DHL”

Maybe order direct from sofirnlight.com in future too imo. All the options. Probably cheapest price. Fast delivery. Can use PayPal if worried. Sofirn get all the money.

Edit:
I said the above when I was just thinking about the price, and didn’t have to contact their customer service.

DO NOT order direct from sofirnlight.com. They ignore what you say when you have a problem and just tell you everything is fine.

Also if you ask them to cancel an order they ignore your message and send it.

What is the DHL tracking number? The tracking number you provided was for USPS. Also, should you not be the one talking to DHL?

I am really not trying to be a jerk, but (as others have agreed here), the money I paid you was for a pair of LT1s delivered to my doorstep without talking to any intermediary.

Also, I have already spoken to USPS. They have asked to open up a “Search” on their web portal, that I have already done, and have so far heard nothing.

Please understand that I would love to not dispute the transaction on my credit card, because I want to have business with you in future. I hope you will work with me.

That is a really good idea. I am definitely steering clear of AliExpress if I can in future. Lan and Barry seems more reasonable to talk to.

Stop being so defeated. Call them back, your local Post Office, the one that serves your ZIP code. Make it clear to them you did not receive your package and you’d like them (the person on the phone) to track your package and tell you where it is.

DHL and other’s routinely turn packages over to USPS for final delivery. Don’t think they make that clear either

It’s not really clear if OP told usps that it shows they already delivered the package but it seems important they know that before proceeding.

I did say that when I opened the search request. Actually, they are the one that pointed out that it is delivered, but told me I can continue “searching” if I have not received the box.

I have worked for many years in the postal service of my country (Spain), and the person who must demand the proof of delivery, where the name and signature of the person who received the shipment appears, is the sender (the person who contracted the shipment), in this case Sofirn.

Sofirn must contact China Post to open a claim to request this proof of delivery, it is the only solution.

This process may take a few days as China Post will contact USPS to request proof of delivery.

do you live in a private house? could someone steal your package? it is entirely possible it was shipped, delivered and dropped at the door,. in that case every party did what they were supposed to.

USPS says it was delivered and you want Sofirn to send you another one and you are angry that they won’t? WTF? This isn’t on Sofirn. 2 things: Sofirn is an excellent company that I have had fantastic service from. They make great (OK, “Solid”) products at a reasonable price. Good products, good service.

2nd) Whats to stop everyone from ordering and simply saying “I didn’t receive the 10 flashlights I ordered which you shipped even though the US postal says they were were delivered, send me 10 more” everytime they order?

Stop blaming Sofirn. It’s not their problem nor is it their fault.

I just went through this same thing with USPS weeks ago. Package delivered a day before I expected it by mistake to the neighbor, who denied all knowledge. USPS knew they put it on his doorstep, they had a GPS reading to prove it. Postal Inspector notified, they take missing packages, misdelivery, and package theft very seriously. A week later, after multiple contacts by USPS, my neighbor finally handed me my package.

The point is if USPS delivered a package with tracking, they know exactly when and where it was delivered, and anyone answering a phone at your local PO readily has access to that information. If the tracking says it was delivered, then it was delivered. But the PO does not yet know it was misdelivered until you make that clear to them, by telling them you never received it. The first thing, the very first thing they’re going to do is look and see where and when they delivered it. Then they’ll actually investigate, recover the package, and redeliver. But they’re not mind readers. As far as they know, everything is fine. It falls upon the person missing the expected package to make it clear to someone at the local PO that the package never arrived, even though the tracking indicates it was delivered. Why is this so difficult?

I never had a bad experience with Sofirn. Great company. As was said, buying from China can be potentially problematic with things go wrong. I’ve had orders eave China then vanish and the suddenly reappear magically months later in my mailbox after I’d been refunded. Basically once the package leaves mainland China it’s sort of out of the sellers control and in the ha ds of the logistica company. Although DHL handled the package in China and across the ocean. It gets handed off to USPS or Fex Ex or whomever domestic carrier they use. DHL uses USPS mostly.

If Sofirn is showing the items delivered, they could just be seeing the delivery confirmation from the originator, not the final carrier. I’d follow the advice of the others and put it back on Aliexpress. Don’t blame Sofirn, as there’s nothing they can do.

That’s why I always had packages delivered at work, so that someone would always be there to take delivery, and that no one would swipe it off any stoop/porch/whatever up front.

Now, working from home, I make damned sure to track every package so I know where it is, and if it’s marked “out for delivery” and such. Even Amazon pops up a map with the gps of the delivery truck (in realtime) and popup blurb saying “6 stops to go”, “3 stops to go”, etc., and I’m usually lying in wait at the door, waiting to pounce, like a jackal salivating over a wounded oppossum, when the dewd walks up, package in hand.

USPS, they usually deliver the mail at about the same time, so small packages usually get to me that way. FedEx, UPS, larger USPS packages, I just have to listen for the :snowflake:thunk!:snowflake: as the box is dropped on my stoop, as most times no one even rings the bell.

same here, anything that is expensive i get delivered to my work, i do occasionally have issues with lasership that amazon uses, they would not come up to my floor, and leave by the door, they would leave it by the mailboxes downstairs, where anyone can take it. but amazon refunds no questions asked if i claim lost package.

Yes I had such experience once. I suggest you post your experience on their feedback, so that they will improve their service.
And they try to get it better. If we do not complain, then how would they know it and improve.
