Manker E14 III

right - i remember that from the U11 interface, the settable moonlight

none of them were right:)

just give me 6 or 8 optically-evenly spaced levels

so simple

Mankerlight, please share some photos and video if possible. And maybe a group buy or BLF coupon.

Since I no longer shop with Banggood because they are smartasses, maybe I will buy one of your flashlights.

Manker E14 III cool-white is 4x LH351D 6500k CRI70?

How about a CRI80 (eg. 5300-5700k), to differentiate it from the neutral-white 4000k CRI90.

I also have a MC13vn with W2.1 with boosted driver on order and will measure it once I receive it. The MC13 is actually a good bit larger than I thought as I was imagining something slightly bigger than a GT Mini. The optic appears identical to the one used in the Acebeam E10 and L17. Though for some reason the hotspot seems just a tiny bit smaller than in the E10 and hotspot is more uniform. Maybe its just the focus is a bit different between the two. The MC13 measures 630 lumens on turbo while E10 measures 562 lumens. I'm not sure how much of it is due to the MC13 using the CULNM1.tg vs E10 using CSLNM1.tg or whether it is just the driver pushing more output in the MC13. Build quality is very high on both the MC13 and E4 III.

With the E4III, the tint (positive DUV) is unfortunately too green for my taste, which is typical for all the LH351D 4000K 90CRI I've seen. I will see what I can do with some minus green filters and maybe swap in some UCL lens if I can find compatible diameter lens. Also I feel that with 18650, it should be able to output much higher but the potential is limited by high resistance due to springs barely pushing on the battery contacts. I guess it was designed to accommodate long cells with built-in USB-C charge.

The included Manker 18350 and 18650 cells measure 1,180mah and 3,063mah. The 1,180mah is higher than 7 out of 8 of the legendary Aspire 18350 and older batch of Vapcell 18350; both of which rewrapped the older, better batch of YDL cells. The YDL cells in the last two years went down hill a bit and measure under 1,100mah. Not sure if I won the cell lottery or if Manker got a really good or improved YDL cell. The 18650 is probably a Samsung 30Q.

I really like the new Manker UI!

Can this be confirmed? I don’t know why they’d sell a light with an LED that they felt the need to include a minus green filter. Why not just use a good LED like the SST-20s they are using in their E02 II?

Because not everyone are tint snobs like us. Also LH351D is much brighter and more efficient than the SST-20. Even with the minus green Lee Filter to achieve the same tint as the SST-20, the LH351D should still be brighter and more efficient.

Wouldn’t these filters also affect the CRI?

Question about the UI: Does it have mode memory for the main mode group? It would be nice to go from the moon modes to the main modes seemlessly, but it’s ok if the main modes always start at low.

Yes. There was a thread somewhere on here with testing showing how it changes CRI (positively). There is also This Post on Reddit with test results showing how with a 4000k LH351D, it bumped R9 all the way up to 92

I believe it has mode memory on both… I could be wrong, as I haven’t even looked at the UI chart yet since receiving the lights on Tuesday 9/29. Figured out the following with some fiddling:

For press on (light tap… main mode?): I have it set on lowest setting.

For press and hold on (moonlight mode group): I have it set on the third level setting.

Like it much more than the first gen Manker E14 that I also have.

Hmm…interesting. I’m a complete noob as far as that kind of thing goes and I would’ve expected a decrease in CRI. Good to know, thanks!

I don’t know however if Manker is referring to a minus green filter

“Install one removable silica gel light filter plastic sheet (green glow gadget)”

Sounds more like one of those GITD things that go under the optic.

It’s a glow gasket for sure (source: I have one)

Without going into the many other pluses and minuses, I will say in Manker’s defense that they were the only company that thought to give me a sufficiently adjustable moonlight mode that fit my needs. That counts. They have been competent designers whose work has also influenced other companies. I’m not sure what their degree of involvement was with the BLF A6, one of my all-time favorite lights. It may well be that they still have work to do on their customer support. I currently have and carry two of their lights; so far, no issues.

Yeah, I REALLY like the new Manker UI on these lights. The only thing I wish they had done, was on the E02 II and the E03H II, to have the highest “moonlight” mode, be the “Low” mode in the middle group. If they had done that, it would be my favorite UI.

I'm very sensitive to green tint so I got rid of it by installing a UCL lens and Lee 249S Quarter Minus Green Filter. Here are my measurements:

Manker E14 III stock lens mid 141 lumens 4262K 0.0081 DUV 91.8 CRI Blue light relative amplitude 1.00 66.7 R9 68.0 R12 91 Rf 98 Rg included 18350 battery
Manker E14 III UCL lens mid 141 lumens 4225K 0.0065 DUV 92.4 CRI Blue light relative amplitude 1.00 69.6 R9 69.2 R12 91 Rf 99 Rg included 18350 battery
Manker E14 III UCL lens w/ LEE 249S 1/4 minus green filter mid 119 lumens 3914K -0.0010 DUV 97.7 CRI Blue light relative amplitude 0.98 88.4 R9 93.3 R12 94 Rf 102 Rg included 18350 battery
Manker E14 III UCL lens w/ LEE 249S 1/4 minus green filter Turbo 1,686 lumens 3983K -0.0027 DUV 96.8 CRI Blue light relative amplitude 0.98 85.4 R9 86.1 R12 94 Rf 103 Rg included 18350 battery

DUV dropped a bit with the UCL lens and obviously much more with the LEE filter. Output dropped about 16% with the filter, which is not bad at all and is likely brighter and more efficient than SST-20 95CRI. On turbo it dropped closer to 18%. Without the green and a nice neutral tint, it is now a very usable light.

)))
I wrote to them that the E14 lacks tightness.
And didn’t even get any answer. Not to mention partial compensation.

I just got this light yesterday. I have to say, I really like it. I just ordered the 18650 extension tube in case I ever want it but although I do use the extension tube with the Manker MC13 (because it’s just a better fit in the hand) I don’t think I will use it for the E14III. One of the advantages of this one is that it’s so small.

I wish they used more clip-on clips so they would be easier to take off rather than the funky tor screw (or whatever it’s called).

Some of these lights (the Manker ones I have) are IMO “specialty lights” so I don’t use them as continuously on flashlights so it’s not so important to have the longer life of the 18650. It is a good option since 18350 batteries aren’t so common.

I understand that the Manker UI used to be less than optimal but I have no problem with this one or the one in the MC13 (same UI).

Yeah, honestly the only failing of the UI for me is I just with the highest moonlight was in the main group as a “low”. This is more so an issue on the E02 II and the E03, but still somewhat on the E14 III. Other than that this is probably my favorite UI.

Received mine 2 days ago, amazing amount of light for such a small package.
The only thing I find any kind of fault with on the design is that, I wish the
tail switch required more effort to engage. Almost no click is heard with very little
effort so, I must either lock it down or loosing the connection with the body while
clipping it to my pocket so I wont accidentally turn it on.

Still no regrets, I ordered it direct from Manker.com and it arrived in 8 days.
Up until I received this light, the Thrunite T1 was my EDC, it has now been replaced
with the Manker.

Hi, did anyobdy try to remove the clip? Is there any other way they secured it than the single torx screw?
