Terrible Experience with Sofirn

Wow.

Have a look at the attached screenshot and let me know if you still think I am an alarmist and should be called Karen.

I dont really think I had any comment about anyones race other than their English speaking skills. And I really hope you change your opinion about timeline after looking at the screenshot above and below.

The screen shot doesn’t even show when it was shipped or delivered?

In any case you have a lot of good suggestions so I will defer to them.

I see you added more. I suggest removing those the only relevant part is delievered August 21 and you are getting nowhere with aliexpress.

In this case since it has been a while go to USPS and start with them. If no luck there just dispute with CC or PayPal. Sofirn already has a black mark from ali so less motivation to help now.

When you insult someones ability to speak it feels somewhat implied. But putting that aside that the screen shots still tell the same story you claim you didn’t receive package, sofirn shows their records coincides with the tracking information indicating delivery. You infer that you still don’t have package but lack of sufficient evidence leaves you with a loss.

From what I understand from reading the thread you didn’t even give adequate time for USPS to even conduct a search for were it could be, from what I gather USPS is also running understaffed due to the pandemic thus things move slowly. But in the end go after USPS for answers first then decide what to do from there, either team with sofirn and have them also put in tickets to USPS and inquire about the logistics of the package or charge back and hope it works in your favor.

Also so you ordered a light mid August and freaking out. I’ll have you know I had a shipment sent in January and I only recently got it in July…. Still got it in the end so no harm no foul, the seller has no control over transport once it leaves their hands.

you are mistaken, and by preventing yourself from taking action, you are prolonging your mysery.

I will explain
ordered a light from sofirn in may
by august, no light, and no response to email
not even to the email address in a paypal dispute
nor did sofirn respond to paypal

paypal ruled in my favor

I then ordered another light from sofirn. There was no reaction to any parting blow.
The second light arrived without issue.

and then, guess what? the long lost package arrived.

I contacted sofirn asking where to send payment, they replied, and I paid.

moral of the story, you are creating drama for yourself by trying to force sofirn to engage in an email battle about a shipment they no longer have control over

what you should do
file a dispute and get a refund, from paypal, or your credit card

and fwiw, I have even had disputes in which papal ruled against me, not with sofirn, and I still got a refund from my credit card company

so
the longer you delay filing your dispute, based on a fear of a last blow, that is not real

the longer you will be mucking about in the messy details of postal handoffs and delayed delivery

one more thing
I bet your package shows up, like mine did
but you should still file a dispute now, and stop banging your head against a wall and making accusations

Hey Jonathan! \o/

Respectfully, I must disagree with this point alone. Banging his head against the wall may well eventually produce positive results.

Twice this year, I have had a package “delivered” when I was home all day long… they never showed. I have had packages get to my local post office and then take another trip around the country. I believe the OP 100% because it has happened multiple times this year to me. It’s a tricky situation, but it’s the seller who has to step up and do something. I agree that if you paid with paypal and it is past delivery time, get your money back via them.

Yes, this is the formal way as it should be done. Seller has to deliver, so seller contacts shipper(s).
But …… it only takes a tiny bit of effort to make a call to you local postoffice. And if that does not lead to a successful outcome, take the formal route.

and it was not stolen by a package theif if left outside ??

If it were me, I would ask for the photographic evidence from USPS. In the UK ALL couriers (so far as I know/have experienced) are required to take a photo at the door of it being left on your doorstep - to provide proof it was actually delivered and avoid situations like this. Obviously this is because of Corona, I’d be surprised if this wasn’t the case where you live as if it weren’t they’d be leaving themselves open to just this sort of situation. That would be my primary question to USPS.
I have had stuff similarly ‘supposedly’ delivered before, the item did turn up eventually, later in the week. I think drivers run short of time and do it to not get told off or whatever for not reaching quota’s, but don’t know for sure.
I hope you get it sorted either way.

How lucky you people are. In one country they take foto’s of the address they deliver. In another country actions are recorded by GPS. In my case a temporary delivery person missed my house by only a half mile and reported that my address was not (eg. no more) existing :person_facepalming:

Yeah, but in the US, there are major hangups about nudity, especially on television, major hangups about hallucinogens, though that is slowly improving, the confectionery is not as advanced, systemic racism, systemic sexism, and the domestic beer generally sucks, so there are trade offs.

Oooopppssss… going south again, huh?

With all due respect, please avoid those extraneous comments.

Sometimes, I can’t help myself. Besides, Henk4U2’s comment, which is not OT, technically also prevents mine from being OT. That’s sort of how conversations work. Now someone can say something about dialogue, and it won’t be OT. Linguistics is like that.

Let me see if I can get in touch with Zoe. She's responsible for Amazon orders, but she might be able to help.

Or stolen by a storm.
Once USPS put my package (video card) on the front porch. Amazon showed it as delivered. Long story short half a year later I found it in the weeds, several yards from my porch. Most likely blown away.
USPS leave packages all over the place. Quite often in a random car/truck on my yard. It just as well can be a car of a guest that later drives of with it.

Once won a lipstick power bank from Anker. UPS delivered it but I’ve never seen it.

That’s really weird practice by USPS.
In my country, when no one home to pick up package they just leaving a note, that package can be picked up on Post Office. No one ever leave package at the doorstep.
Mike

The carrier might be the thief.

The insidious problem with package carriers and their tracking software, is that if they mark the package “DELIVERED” and it is not, there is no proof. You’re really screwed. This happened to me with USPS once. I’ve no idea if my package was misdelivered or delivered and stolen. I’d never had a package stolen before or since. Anyway, with no proof, USPS rejected my claim. This didn’t stop me from using their service. It isn’t perfect, but their track record is excellent overall and thankfully the lost package didn’t have expensive contents.

It’d be funny to give ’em a 12hr video from 8-8 or so, let them watch all 12hrs of the day the package was ostensibly delivered.

“Here, see for yourselves…”
