When will we start seeing Anduril 2 on these? Not in a hurry or anything, but figured I wait until the 2 comes out and not spend extra on reflashing kit.
Does anyone have a picture of this beam they can share? even if it is the new Manker light? I cannot find it online and i am interested in this version of the KR1.
I’m a minimalist, and don’t even EDC my wallet and car key (and haven’t used my house key in the 10 years I’ve owned my house). I like the look of the D4V2, mainly for the emitter choices (2700K SST20 and 2700K E21A) and that it’s a quad. If I get a flashlight, I would put it on my head like this guy below. I don’t understand flashlights that are not headlamps. Why wouldn’t you want your hands free? I also don’t understand tail switches. Seems like you have to use other hand to operate switch, do gymnastic finger movement, or hold the light like a police officer.
I love the ingenuity of using the headband that way, looks like ill be buying one today, thanks! and definitely hold the tailswitch like police officer . I was so opposed to tail switches when I started this hobby, but in my practical use I have come to prefer it for it is simplicity and ALWAYS knowing where the go button is in the dark. of course with headlamp the button is always in the same spot I wish I was a minimalist, im closer to the hoarder side of things. but life is to short to not own some sweet gear, if that is your kind of thing.
I didn’t expect, that it will become available this soon. Ordered one K1
I am not good at making and hosting beamshots, but I will be able to post here my experiences, once I receive it.
I don’t have K1 with the Cool White Osram CSLNM1 emitter, but I have one with the Pure Green CSLNM1 already.
Also, I have a K1 with SST-20 4000K 95 CRI earlier, but currently it seems to be unavailable, so I am glad, that I grabbed one, while I could
Yea, usually light during the day while working on an install or searching for random things here and there under the car/ engine compartment/barn work shop/etc. and at night if i’m hiking and the sun sets I would be more apt to hold the light in a normal position but turn it on/off in the reverse “cop” grip. I wish I was at the point of doing two hour runs, its been a really long time since I’ve been there (but thats on me) AND I had not even realized what your u/name was until now… I do agree with you, if you are running then headlamp all the way, definitely not carrying a torch. Im not here to disagree or push a light on you, just having some fun. Keep it light out there. -Artie
I just received my latest order from Hank. I like warm light, but I have to say that I did not expect E21A 2700K R9080 to be this magical.
Colors look perfect, and it does not look like a typical 2700K led at all. It looks pure white on a white wall, there is no trace of yellow. Even SST-20 2700K JA3, which is known to be below BBL, looks a little bit yellow. At first I was sure that I actually received E21A 3500K R9080 by mistake. Only after comparing it directly to SST-20 2700K JA3 was I able to convince myself that it really is 2700K.
I now have D4V2 flashlights with these warm emitters:
E21A 2000K R9050 (received today)
E21A 2200K R9050
E21A 2700K R9080 (received today)
SST-20 2700K JA3
XP-L HI 2850K T6 8B (received today)
I still like all of them, but E21A 2700K R9080 is by far the best. There is no comparison. I have Lee Zircon 802 and 803 minus green filters, but even with a filter none of the other leds look magical like this one does. Perhaps Lee Zircon filters are not suitable for very warm leds, I do not know. I use E21A 2200K R9050 with a Lee Zircon 803 filter, and it does make it look a little bit better.
I suspect the reason E21A 2700K R9080 looks the best is that it has the highest R9 and the lowest DUV of them all. R9 makes a lot of difference. You should definitely get it if you like warm light.
