Hi,
Can anyone point me to a light diffuser for an Emisar D18. Even if it is a DIY, I wouldn’t mind.
Thanks

Do you or a friend have a 3D printer with translucent filament?
Someone posted a D18 diffuser on Thingiverse.
Take a lid off of a 2 quart icecream container ..One with a plastic rim and usually a paper top .
Soak it in water till the paper falls off leaving you with an Oval with a 3/4 inch side and a lip of about a 3/16ths of an inch with which to secure a round cut out disc of diffuser film .
Cut the oval band and wrap it around the bezel and trim it so the ends butt up to one another . Tape it from the inside . Then run masking tape around the entire thing a few times . cut out the disc and glue it inside the lip.
Finish the masking tape with black indelible / permanent marker ..or paint ?
The whole thing happens in about 9 minutes .
you can do the same thing with almost any plastic container that the bezel fits snuggly down in . It's a little bit harder to cut a hole in the bottom of something //cut down the side and using a round file /sandpaper etc.? making the hole actually round :) BLF Q8 fits snuggly down into the bottom of a normal yoghurt container . It's easier if the sides are straight up and down instead of tapered.
Start shoving your lights into things you could cut down into a "lens cap"
Personally I don't like bad add on caps as diffusers since they are excessively glarey . I go for flat pop on pop off lens cap type ....Or tall tube diffusers /either intentionally open ended or of material that isn't obnoxious
Hey, that’s a great idea about the 3d printed diffuser. Thanks
