Lidl is supposedly opening stores in the USA, either this month or last, though they normally only sell Tronic battery`s two to three times a year, So stock-up when they do.
In my experience with the use of NiMH Tronic batteries, at first I always get quite decent runtimes, but in a few months of use, the differences with batteries like eneloop or fujitsu grow rapidly. Even when the batteries charge them with many mA, after 6 months of use, my Tronic do not support high modes well and never the Turbo (this is my experience with AA and AAA Tronic LSD black).
I will not buy any Tronic battery charger`s though, I have had 4 die on me, 2 new out of the box went a bang, don't power them up with the battery`s already inside the charger or you will see sparks fly this was on 220v AC don't know about 110v AC
What matters the number of cycles that are said? …. if after 3 months and 15 or 20 refills is no longer able to maintain high and turbo modes …… for me there is no comparison, after more than 5 Years using NiMH batteries in high-end flashlights, the Tronic very quickly lose their ability to maintain medium and high Ampere demand …. the Eneloop and Fujitsu after double or triple use are still much better ……
I think I know what happened here… My comment was to HKJ’s post about the pre-2007 Tronic eco 950mAh in silver-black sleeves. But my test now shows the post-2007 glitter version…
Tronic sells batteries under the same name every year, and I guess they source them from whoever is the cheapest that year. The quality differs from year to year, the pre-2007 silver-blacks ones were shite, the post-2007 glitter ones were good.
