Several possible reasons for this, if you ordered batteries as well, that is the most likely cause.

I just received my GT94 from nealsgadgets. However, there is an issue - read and view below.
However, something doesn't look correct. The LEDs are de-doomed as expected, However the reflector is not polished. It's orange-pealed. Did I miss something about a last minute design change?
This is what nealsgadgets shows for the reflector and what was previously spec'd - Reflector: 118 mm inner diameter, aluminum, smooth finish
It should be smooth…MATT SMITHs video its smooth…that sucks…seems like they accidently put the GT4 Reflector in it…sorry man…hope ours doesnt have it.LET US K KW WHAT YOU FIND OUT
OP reflector is a good thing. I’d have that.
This was the first light I purchased from Neal, great service for myself. I ordered after watching Matt Smith's video on 9/26, I also received mine today, :-) I didn't even notice until. Mine is the same.
What is the reason for the OP reflector?
OP reflectors give a smoother beam pattern at the cost of throw.
Neal just said he will be sending a smooth reflector to those who received an OP and also to those who were already shipped.
Sorry for that.
I don’t think that’s a fair fix. Not everyone has the tools and knowledge to remove the bezel on these monsters to replace the reflector.

I'd be okay with replacing the reflector myself.
I don’t have the light myself, but I know the bezel is not glued, but tight.

Distance: 9 feet 3 inches.
GT4 step down after: 2:53 m:s
GT94 step down after: 00:58 m:s
NOTE: Large cooling fans was used because of high ambient temperature. Step down times would have been less without fan.

NOTE: Daisy peddle effect was seen on outer edges of beam, but not include here. I wanted to compare the exact same areas of the spot beam.
I will do the same test after I receive the smooth reflector for the GT94.
Why such difference in step down time?
I'm guessing it's the difference between the:
Lumintop GT4 4xXHP70.2 LEDs
vs
Lumintop GT94 4xSBT90.2 LEDs
The head of the GT94 felt much hotter when it stepped down.
Neal just informed me there was a mistake in the assembly line that put orange peel reflectors in the GT94 by mistake.
They will be sending out Smooth reflectors that you can switch yourself if you desire. The hardest part of swapping them is opening the head, it requires a strap wrench to get it open.
After that it is a matter of being really careful to not drop the reflector on the LED’s (holding the light upsidedown and pushing the reflector up carefully while watching is the best option).
