Quick beam shot on turbo comparison: GT4 vs GT94
Distance: 9 feet 3 inches.
GT4 step down after: 2:53 m:s
GT94 step down after: 00:58 m:s
NOTE: Large cooling fans was used because of high ambient temperature. Step down times would have been less without fan.
GT4
GT94 with OP reflector
NOTE: Daisy peddle effect was seen on outer edges of beam, but not include here. I wanted to compare the exact same areas of the spot beam.
I will do the same test after I receive the smooth reflector for the GT94.
I also noticed that the GT94 I received doesn't appear to be cool white. It has a slight yellow tint. I tested against a while wall in the daytime. The GT4 was definitely cool white, but not the GT94. It this expected?

I am guessing you are testing at low output levels?
The SBT90.2 does have tint shift depending on the power lever. In the lower power levels it will tend to have a bit of a yellow/green hue. This goes away at higher power levels though.
The SBT90.2 is only available in a CW tint, so it must be CW.
No, I was always testing in turbo (the high output level before step down) for both the GT4 and GT94.
I will post beam shots later.

Ok, another thing to keep in mind is that it is around ~5700k vs most other CW lights that are 6500k, so it will naturally look warmer then those if that is what you are comparing it to.
Thanks Texas_Ace.
So are you saying that the GT94's Luminus SBT90.2 LEDs are cool white in 5700K where as the GT4's XHP70.2 LEDs are cool white in 6500K?
Here are 2 beam shots, shot against different background colored walls. I may have misinterpreted the beam color based on the wall colors.
GT94 beam against a beige colored wall.
GT94 beam against an off-white colored wall.

5700K is in the CW range. NW goes up to 5000K, >5000K is generally considered CW, see here: https://flashlightwiki.com/ANSI_White

Correct, the GT4 is 6500k and the GT94 is around 5700k, maybe a bit closer to 5500k. Side by side you will be able to see the tint difference.
Picture looks fine to me given they both have a bad color temp setting (normal for a auto setting).
Although the SBT90.2 is not made in anything but CW, so it is basically zero chance it is anything else. Sad for me, I wish they had a NW version.
I will say that the GT94 tint is acceptable even to my CW hating self.

Got my light! Can’t test it though because I accidentally ordered flat top VTC6’s instead of button top
Edit: Soldered some tabs on the top of the batteries and got the light to come on. The only words I have are that this light is insane!

Check out my beamshots here! There is no comparison between the GT94 and the other lights lol GT94 vs some of my other big lights

I’d like to see some beam shot comparisons next to the GT4 at about 200 yards.

There is some #'s from a good source showing a 26% bump in candela for swapping an OP to SMO, Matt Smith (VOB) with a Convoy L6 XHP70.2:
Matt's vid here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRp8WxJsivw&t=213s
130 kcd to 164 kcd which is a 26% bump, but think the variations from LED to LED, light to light, reflector to reflector is significant.

Yeah, that is a bit of an outlier in my testing, I think that the combo of the XHP70.2 and the VERY heavy OP on that reflector played a role in the results.
Still, I would not be shocked to see 15-20% gain in lux with a SMO reflector in the GT94 at the cost of the slight donut hole returning.

I will have mine Monday or Tuesday. Will do the test.
Mine has Oranges in the reflector…IS THIS NORMAL…LOL…i havent got it yet…still says returned to sender…

Are we going to have to request the smooth reflector or is Neal just automatically sending them out to all of us who got the first batch?

We should know more once the reflectors are made but I am guessing they will be sent automatically but don’t quote me.

Wow! Can you tell if the beam is emitted from an SMO or OP reflector 1km away? Maybe because the OP reflector emits a weaker beam?

It will definitely allows you. I did disable the temperature controls on my GT, GT90 and GT4. Will do my GT94 as well later today. The courier will drop it off in the next two hours.
