【convoy】H4 and B35AM options are updated

[quote=Simon Mao]

Looking forward to that in the S2+ and S12.

Please Simon can we have constant frequency strobes in your lights (e.g. 10Hz) instead of the alternating/two frequency strobes. You are losing lots of sales to light painting photographers by not having a constant frequency strobe in Biscotti and 12 Mode UI.

Hello Simon,
I want to swap emitter and driver on the just arrived Z1, but can’t figure out how to disassemble the driver section?
Can you give me the right direction please?

Thx

Oh boy Oh boy Oh boy

uh ,sorry ,what’s mode spaces?

it’s 17mm diameter

reflectors in L2 and L21A are the same

remove the bezel ,then remove the black lid around the LED,
you can see the brass pill inside.then take it out

Perfect ! I wasn’t sure the pill could unscrew from the top ! (sadly I tore the o-ring of the zooming part when reassembling …)

Screw off the front lens and zoom out (wide Ray) . The rotating head must be crewed down, it comes off through the back of body.

pls leave me your email address via PM, i will take time to record a video

Nice beamshot comparison featuring Convoy’s new L21A CULPM1.... (link to original post on Baidu)

2 examples

1. L21A against the Acebeam L17.....

2. L21A against the Amu XT45 with SBT90.2

With a thankyou to the Baidu FC and the poster G_w_t_F.

Thanks,

Martin

At what point should culpm1 consider optimal distance? If you look the picture above, you see its beam small vs xhp35 and sbt90.2 which apparently much wider range, but those distance are fall short for this culpm1 bcos closer look it has much higher intensity of light, as in the picture, I think this light should aim further to make it clear. I still wait for more beamshot from Convoy new L21A CULPM1…

Sadly the Osram red driver is only 2.5A. It performs best at 3.5A but 3A would have been ideal….oh well

At 2.45A I get 178 lumens
At 3.5A I get 235 lumens

That’s a large difference for the red led

I’m still happy to have a driver though. At 2.45A it’s still good usable lighting up to 200m. It still gives 4 times the performance than using a red filter.

Which light are you referring to? Or this a driver Simon sells?

This entire thread is of Convoy’s torches etc, so yes, Convoy’s red Osram driver that was just added to the AliExpress store

But what about using it with SST-20DR?

I don’t have one to know but the 20DR has a max current spec of 3A so you won’t see max output with this driver

I wonder how easy it is to increase the current

Yea I understand what the thread content is, I have not seen the driver hit the store and was looking for something similar recently. Thanks for patronizing response though.

In my experience (and probably most others)- the osram LED’s have a relatively smaller “spill” area then other LEDs used for throwers like the sst40, xhp35 and sbt90… I also feel that the way the picture was taken (looks like from elevation off of the ground), that the spill area on both LEDs are not really apparent and we’re only seeing the hotspots. This new(?) osram CULPM1 should technically have the largest spill/lumen output of all the osram emitters though. I found the release of this flashlight, especially with an 8amp driver, very exciting! I’m not a huge fan of small spill throwers but I will buy this convoy, because I believe the spill area will be sufficient. I know the W2 in my KR1 has sufficient spill so this L21a host should be awesome for this LED / driver!

What is the tint on the L21A CULPM1.TG ??? It looks like a great handheld single cell thrower.

They come in CW only currently, so 5700’ish k to 6500k which is totally fine for throwers.
