FireflyLite E12R 12*emitters 15000LM 1x21700 Flashlight

IMO the W1 would make much more sense in this light.

looks nice

Looks great! Please make in copper

Me too, Fireflies sound right than fireflyte

The use of a buck driver has made me interested in this light.
I would love a 4000K 95CRI SST20 version. Its not as bright at LH351D but it is more intense which is useful in a floody setup like this.

Aesthetics look nice too.

+1

This would be a great light for using multiple tints or even tint mixing / tint ramping. For example, here an idea I once had with the 7-LED optic using 3x 2.700K 90CRI + 3x 5.000K 90CRI + 1x SST20-DR 660nm...

With the 12 LED optic, the inner 3 lenses could be outfitted with Luminus SST20-DR 660nm for deep red light which is great for preserving one’s night vision capability or to avoid attracting insects.

ToyKeeper had some great idea to add red light into the tint ramping of Sofirn‘s LT1 lantern, so this flashlight could maybe offer stepless tint ramping from 5.000K to 2.700K to deep red light.

NOTE: All the prototype photos above do not represent the final E12R in mass-production.

Very interested! So is it actually in production? Is there a target date for release?

SST-20-DR 660nm has a much lower forward voltage than white leds, so it cannot be mixed with white leds in this way until unless we have flashlight drivers that can drive it separately.

Interesting design, especially the new driver. If it runs Anduril properly and meets its efficiency target, and can physically fit in other lights such as the ROT66 or even the E07, it could increase the appeal of existing products, too.

Jack, please make 2 optica like in recent rot66 (i think) floody and throwy

looking good :+1:

my next buy

Regards Xandre

warm, neutral and cool white option please.

+1 for many ideas outlined here above.

No one ever did a proper multi E21A flashlight (with more than 4 pieces of E21A), so I will definitely buy it, when I see one proper design coming alive.
Please note, that clear optics are not the best for E21A though, so it will need to be frosted or beaded.

Shaving LH351D is a good idea not only for making desired tint changes, but also it helps with beam quality regarding radial tint shift.

I go even further in another direction: If LH351C could be possible, that would even cut a small portion of cost in multi emitter flashlights, but it would result in smaller light emitter surface, which could mean more throw.

LH351C can be still driven above 3A safely (in a test documented here on BLF, it survived even above 5 A, but let’s keep a safe margin from that), so it could even fit both the E12R and PL47 better:

- for E12R, more throw would be desirable, and anyways, a 21700 cell would not provide more than 100W safely, and there are 12 emitters in that flashlight, meaning about 8-8.5W power per emitter (between 2A and 3A) each. Already by using LH351C without being shaved, that is a noticeable increase on throw.

  • for PL47 G2, 4 pieces of shaved LH351C could be the best idea. I would choose 2700K, 4000K and 5700K 90 CRI tints for this kind of use.

Looks great, keen to see these for sale.

I am definitely getting one with E21A or 219b, if available, when it is made in Ti / Cu, which I hope it will.

Looking forward to it! Great project with interesting driver. Finally no AMC+FET driver!
Guys, please, why do you change such great name as FireFlies to this Firefly Lite? I deffinitely like the old one much more!
I really appreciate LH351D default choice - I would like to see not only 5000K, but also some warmer tint choices. Please don’t forget about XP-l Hi and SSt20 4000K 95 CRI among available LED choices.
Keep it up, you have my support with this project

I agree with everyone else here, keep the fireflies name.

In English the word lite means something that is made smaller or cheaper. For example a software package that is cheaper and has less options would be called lite.

Lite is not a creative spelling of light, it has a completely different and negative meaning.

That may be why everyone has the negative reaction to the name.

Fireflies is simple and beautiful.

Fireflylite creates an immediate negative reaction.

And thank you for your amazing flashlights. The E07 is my favorite flashlight and the PL47 is my favorite headlight.

Is there going to be a E07 gen2 coming? I would like to see one with a deeper optic and more throw, similar to the optic in the astrolux mf01 mini.

The magnet is built in tailcap and removable , The optcis is 30 degree-Mid-flood and a bit throw.

I will also add a few comments from myself.

  1. Keep the name FireFlies. Why do you want to change it at all? FireflyLite is terrible.
  2. Make removable magnet in the tail.
  3. Make pads on the driver for reflashing.
  4. AUX leds on the main mcpcb may make it difficult to replace the main LEDs. A separate board more practical for us, but probably not profitable for you.
  5. Use throwy optic. If possible add floody optic (like for ROT66 g2).
  6. xp-l hi is better choice in such lights imho.
