I agree with everyone else here, keep the fireflies name.

In English the word lite means something that is made smaller or cheaper. For example a software package that is cheaper and has less options would be called lite.

Lite is not a creative spelling of light, it has a completely different and negative meaning.

That may be why everyone has the negative reaction to the name.

Fireflies is simple and beautiful.

Fireflylite creates an immediate negative reaction.

And thank you for your amazing flashlights. The E07 is my favorite flashlight and the PL47 is my favorite headlight.

Is there going to be a E07 gen2 coming? I would like to see one with a deeper optic and more throw, similar to the optic in the astrolux mf01 mini.

I will also add a few comments from myself.

1. Keep the name FireFlies. Why do you want to change it at all? FireflyLite is terrible.
2. Make removable magnet in the tail.
3. Make pads on the driver for reflashing.
4. AUX leds on the main mcpcb may make it difficult to replace the main LEDs. A separate board more practical for us, but probably not profitable for you.
5. Use throwy optic. If possible add floody optic (like for ROT66 g2).
6. xp-l hi is better choice in such lights imho.

integratered DTP MCPCB does not save cost, it saves some assembly work though, Replacing main emitters is not complicated, no much difference with regular MCPCB.

New optics is mid-throw-flood, only 30degree available.

I don’t understand why there is little aluminium mass directly underneath that plate of LEDs (think ROT66) and all that heat sinking around an area that will hold little more then a switch.

Not an expert on thermal management but I challenge some of the smart people here to talk me thru how this design is going to manage the heat.

Or maybe that’s not the point in this case and if so apologies for raising this.

How can you tell there is little aluminum mass? The E07 had a very thick aluminum shelf under the mcpcb. It had some of the best heat sinking property for its size. I hope the shelf thickness, which is most important for heat transfer, remains thick like in the E07

The design seems to have further reduced the mass of aluminium that could conduct heat away by adding a ‘heat sink’ groove right where there should be a large body of mass to conduct heat away. It appears to be bottlenecked at the place that most needs material.

Edit: Just saying I can’t recall a design that undercuts the diameter of the aluminium that houses the mcpcb quite like this.

Why not just E12? According to the number of leds.

E12R, the R stands for rechargeable. This has USB-C recharge at 2A. Thats a very good recharge rate.

I wouldnt risk mine, UNLESS you told and show me how the 12 leds will be batter able to hold X amount of heat where it goes through Y’s dissipation. Hehe, my hope that will solve. I’m not sayin they can’t anyway…but what are the possibillity?

A buck driver would make this a perfect flashlight for red leds and E21A.

(1) Could you offer some 660nm red led, like SST-20-DR, or XP-G3 Photo Red?
(2) Could you offer some 730nm red led, like SST-10-FR, or XP-E2 Far Red?
(3) Could you offer E21A?
(4) Could you offer sliced LH351D? Slicing makes LH351D warmer and more rosy. I would really like sliced LH351D 2700K, it could have a CCT of about 2400K and it would probably be below BBL.

I would buy at least 3 660nm red flashlights, at least 1 730nm red flashlight, and also some with E21A.
I would also buy at least 2 sliced LH351D 2700K flashlights.

I understand red light is for some special use, hunting , signal light etc. but Why using red leds for such a powerful floody light?

We do not supply sliced LH351D, just regular LH351D available.

For E21A light, it is another firefly project.
