looking for a powerful keychain flashlight

How about this

That'll work.

Or, if you want XP-G3 faster, there's:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/RovyVon-Rechargeable-Flashlight-Waterproof-A3/dp/B07D4GYYBJ

XP-G3 or Nichia 219?

XP-G3 is brighter, and doesn't get as hot.

Nichia 219 has better CRI.

I like XP-G3, but there are plenty that prefer Nichia 219.

Should I wait for the Lumintop GT nano?

Nitecore Tiki is also a good choice, price fairly low especially with discount codes that appear on it often on the forum produces 300 lumens max.

Nice light but not powerful enough.

I found this video of the Lumintop GT nano it’s in a foreign language but it’s the only video or review I can find of it and I think it.
Lumintop GT Nano - YouTube looks epic! I think I will wait for it to be sold in the uk.

Since there was a budget limit its somewhat difficult get a powerful keychain light. But I mean if budget was a bit higher you could get a emisar D4v2 with a shorty tube its hilariously small for a light that packs 4k+ lumens

For the keychain perspective, the GT Nano will be bulkier than the suggestions mentioned above, will be more expensive, will have a 10880 battery which is smaller than the others.

Although small, I wouldn’t consider it a keychain light. Or, under that perspective, an Emisar D4 in 18350 tube would almost be a better option…

Thanks ye looking a bit pricy but ngl that’s one hell of a pocket rocket!

Very good point, it’s to big for a keychain.

I don’t have experience with it, but have been thinking of getting the Lumintop EDC01. I really like the size and the clip on it. Very cheap and with a good rechargeable AAA it should perform well.

The EDC01 is much less brighter than any of the lights suggested before and OP wants a bright light!

Here’s a perspective of some small lights:
Left to Right:
RovyVon Aurora A5
Nitecore TIP 2017
FW3A (18350)
Emisar D4 (18350)
Acebeam TK16 (16340)
RovyVon Aurora A23

I’ll go back to the suggestion I did before:
RovyVon Aurora: A1X, A3 Pro, A5X, A7X, A8X : battery is 330mAh, max Lumens 650 (with XP-G3; with Nichia 219C will be lower)

The other “A#” versions, which are slightly smaller in length (as seen here https://www.rovyvon.com/), will have 260mAh and ~500Lumens (less with Nichia).

As for the Nitecore TIP 2 (https://flashlight.nitecore.com/product/tip2), you get 720 lumens in a 500mAh battery, in a thin but less compact package than the ones above.

My opinion, but if you need the keychain light for a continuous use, a bright but small flashlight won’t probably be the best option. But in case you need it for short bursts, instant illumination for short periods, any of the above will suit you.

Hope this helps in some way :+1:

Fantastic post! I didn’t realize how large the a23 is. For the moment I found good prices for the A3X.

Thank you to every one for helping me find a good keychain torch. I think I’m going for the Rovyvon Aurora A3X

Not sure what size you are willing to consider as a keychain light. Powerful and keychain usually don’t go together. It is not a good idea to hang a lot of weight on your ignition switch. That said the largest size I would call a keychain light would be a very small AA or a AAA. Also the 16340 lights are small enough for hanging on a keychain. Jetbeam 1Mk or a Wowtac W1 are capable of 500 lumens or so.

I’ve got the Aurora 24Ti and A4Ti, both are great. The A4 lives with my keys and honestly can’t think of one bad thing to say about it.

Does anyone know if the plastic Rovyvon (A1X) is good?

I don’t have that one specifically, but I have the A5R and the A8U that are also made of Polyamide.
The material is scratch resistant and lightweight. I carry mine A5R in the keychain, never had an issue with it regaring body construction (nor functioning as well).
I would say that the major difference between the A1Z and the A3x is mostly weight and aesthetics (colour, body shine). Of course, if a truck runs over the A1X and the A3X there may be different results, eventually

Other than that, functioning is similar.

I was actually looking at their line-up seeing if I could justify getting more one or two of those smaller lights :innocent:
