4x1A USB charger

I’m looking for a 4x1A charger, with usb-c power port. It should be long enough for charging 21700 cells and also able to charge NiMH. What is the best to choose?

I think you should additionally specify if you are talking about 21700 protected or unprotected …. problem is that some manufacturers like to state their devices can handle 21700 ……

…. but in praxis they often mean unprotected which are shorter …… thus a “little disinformation or inaccurate information” can sometimes also lead to some disappointment !

Be allways very specific …. to make sure you get the answer you’re seeking ….

Cheers,

Martin

PS> I assume you mean protected 21700 as than you would have covered all eventualities ?

4*1Amp vía USB is difficult To get

The Xtar VC4S can do 4x 1A charging (Li-Ion or NiMh) when using Quick Charge USB power adapter… although it uses micro-USB.

The Xtar VC8 uses USB-type C and can do 4x 1A (or 8x 0.5A) when using Quick Charge power input, but it’s 8-slots…

I believe the Xtar VC8 needs USB-A to USB-C and probably may not work with USB-C to USB-C (not sure though).

I use only unprotected 21700. Maybe it would be possible to push one unprotected 21700 into a bay that takes protected 18650s.

If unprotected is what you are looking for than sometimes it's possible to modify the length of the batteries a charger accepts by removing plastic material

from the housing as often the slider itself is able to accept unprotected and sometyimes even unprotected 21700's.

Velleman VLE9 modified for protected (!) 21700's (displayed in powerbank function ... charging will be performed with 0.5 or 1.0 Amps)

Xtar 'ANT" MC6 modified for protected (!) 21700's ... only outer bay's sinde those are only capable of charging with 1 Amp.

With the XTAR I also had to modify the operational length of the slider, the metal parts, to accommodate 21700's.

The only difference between an 18650 or 21700 is the format and not the chemistry so modifying the format accepted by the charger solves the problem .... just be creative !

It's all a bit of home made science ....... that can be tweaked to keep up with progress ..... it's not perfect (= longer charging) but it does work .... buying new can always wait a little longer ?

The best tool for the JOB in both cases, metal and plastic modification, is a "Dremel Tool".

Cheers,

Martin

You are great! Thanks for the kind supports. The VC4S and VC8 are our hot sale chargers. And the VC8 supports USB-A to USB-C and also USB-C to USB-C cables.
