【convoy】H4 and B35AM options are updated

I think any led could do over 1km with a big enough reflector :stuck_out_tongue:

All of the Osram white flat’s achieve 1km+ , the CULPM1 is the brightest white of them all. Using it in the Convoy L21A at 7A I get 1350 meters but my meter gives a higher number than others so I sell it at 1250m.

If I point it just above a hill on our farm I can see the outline of it and that’s 1300m so it’s at least that much

Sorry buddy, I replied at 3:30am, wasn’t meant to come out that way, I realized as I read it back but too tired to change it

Just ordered L21a with CULPM1 8amp ! Also ordered the m21a with CSLPM1 6a driver! By the way, my first Convoys! Can’t wait!

Convoy L21A CULPM.TG or otherwise known as the W2.1 driven at 7 amps

200 meters to the trees.

I find it curious to see many of you driving these emitters quite hard. Of course this also is because how these drivers are set at, namely the newest ∅22mm 8A switching driver (very smart choice, efficient cool running driver).

Curious because we don't really have any formal CULPM1.TG tests yet, hope they are ready soon. The CSLPM1.TG peaked at 8A, and so I wouldn't expect the CULPM1.TG to peak much above 9A. But we'll see.

Thanks for the beam shot! Makes me even more excited to receive mine seeing it in action!

And no worries about the comment, I get being tired. Definitely no need to go back and fix it :+1:

6.6A is the max in the specs and 8A - 10A pulsed.

I tested it using that ramping driver from Convoy.

- 50E 3.8v 6A = 1200 ish

- 50E for 7A = 1313

  • 40T for 8A = 1318

djozz tested an early chip from hank and he said his peaked at 7A, my testing confirms it. Even at turn on it didn’t go above 1380.

That’s very disappointing that it’s not really any improvement over the cslpm1

djozz tested XP-G3 Photo Red. If SST-20-DR performs similarly to XP-G3 Photo Red (it probably does), it does not seem useful to push the LED beyond 3A.

….yes, but I’m talking about the driver which is only pushing 2.5A

Received my L21A CULPM1… I will say nothing more you can ask for with such price tag.

IMHO, the L21A CULPM1 is probably the best value for money pencil beam thrower thus far. If not, at least for now.

Questions for Simon:

Let's say I would like to get a Convoy L2 smooth replacement reflector. The part is not for sale, which is weird because all other reflectors are (L6, M1, M2, M3, M21C, M26C, and so on). So, how do I order something like this? Custom order? How does it work?

Are you still offering discounts?

Thanks in advance.

I will add the link as soon as possible.
L2 has two kinds, 9mm bottom hole for 5050 and 3535 LED, 11mm bottoom hole for 7070 LED

Orange-yellow Osram just showed up in store :)

If we could get royal blue CSLNM1.14 That would be great. All colors covered

Anybody knows the wavelength of this?

Thanks

Just look it up in the specs document:

See page 8 and there you go.

It is not monochrome, it has a wide spectrum, because its light is phosphor converted from a deep blue base emitter. Almost all deep blue is gone, and what you get is slight green and a fair amount of red/deep red as well, besides the dominant wavelengths.

Thanks guys for quick jump in. I’m not good at reading specs, so your rescue was right in time.
But I should have studied the picture better.
Anyway, the diode is in my shopping cart already.
I’m thinking of an anti - fog flashlight but I’d like to ask what do you think.
Which one can get through the fog better, monochrome 590nm or “composed” with dominant 590nm? I also have XP-E2 with monochrome 590nm….

I just noticed Simon added S2+ body colors we haven’t seen before, deser tan, green, cyan...

Maaaan, one of the few good things in this crapy year is Convoy store for sure.

Well done Simon!

I think, both of them will be similarly effective regarding fog penetration, but with the converted one, you will be able to see a few different colors as well, so overall, a bit more information, better detail recognition.

Looking at the spec sheet, this tint is not as powerful as the “pure green” variant (which is also a phosphor converted wider spectrum one), also, it starts to lose output, when being warmed up, so about 1.5A to 2.5A would be the best current for it to be driven with.
