I’d be absolutely shocked if they weren’t the same cell. Everything looks the identical. It could be something as minor as a different insulating gasket and/or thinner wrapper that makes the difference.
I’ve had this before with Windyfire Red 14500 FTs. Two of the four I bought at the same time would work in an Eagletac D25a, two would not. Microns different in protrusion of the positive contact was make or break. Crimping variation easily could account for the difference I measured in that case.
4 of my Shockli 1050 flat tops worked in the GT Micro and both the Vapcell H10 flat tops didn’t. But it could simply be due to batch to batch variation. The chances of them being the same cell is high.
I think there’s also variation between GT Micro’s, I got cool-white & neutral-white GT Micro.
I don’t have these Shockli 1050mAh and Vapcell H10 flat-tops, but I tried some other flat-top 14500 batteries on the GT Micro.
What’s surprising is that some flat-tops work on one GT Micro, but doesn’t work (not making proper contact) with the other GT Micro…
Got flat top Vapcell Gold from Nov 2018 and flat top H10 from Neals included with GT Micro copper recently delivered. Both work in original GT Micro and the copper.
Fortunately their flat tops protrude a bit more than the H10. 4 of my Shockli Orange 1050 flat tops works in the GT Micro and both the Vapcell H10 flat tops didn’t.
My Jaxman E3 triple w/ LD-A4 9A driver, from led4power
And my BlitzWolf BW-ET1 modded with XHP50.2 (with 15mm driver with Anduril, this one takes 2 x14500) :+1:
And eventually other 2xAA lights that I will mod in 2x14500 with XHP50.2 (Tool25 and a 2xAA Livarnolux zoomie).
And in my Tool AA lights when I receive some DTPs to replace the thin aluminium PCBs. They’re running with 15mm drivers with Bistro HD OTSM by Lexel.
