【convoy】H4 and B35AM options are updated

I guess it may depend on the type of payment you are using . Once I tried using virtual credit card and couldn’t do it, so I needed to use PayPal to place the order.

Once you add the payment method click on “place order” but don’t advance for payment, and abandon that “screen”. After Simon adjusts the value, you can go back to the order placed and choose another payment method (as I didn’t want to use PP, I added a virtual card for single use) or the same.

Hope this helps :+1:

Simon,

In your store the cslnm1 comes bare or on mcpcb, what diameters are available for the mcpcb? I need to measure mine but just seeing if you have options.

Also, can you sell board mcpcb only for the CULPM1? 4040 footprint that is. Thank you!

Bare LEDs and LEDs on MCPCB and bare MCPCB are all listed.

Options are typically 16 and 20mm and you can almost always sand them down to get inbetween or smaller sizes.

If you had no choice you could even put a 3030 or 4040 LED on most 3535 MCPCB’s but they dont center well and may not have the best thermal path.

Dear Simon,

This is what a user of AliExpress outside of China can choose right now as payment methods:

AliExpress removed the other payment methods from their international website sometime ago. As far as I am aware the only option is to use an old version of the AliExpress application, 8.4.0 or earlier to be more precise (you can download it in Uptodown.com, for example). Warning: the app checks for updates on startup, and records the amount of times it has moaned about updating; it eventually refuses to work without updating if you allow it to keep checking, so it is best to disconnect from the internet just before opening the app, and reconnect to internet once the app is about 10s launched (to dismiss the app update check).

With an old version of the application (8.4.0 and earlier) it is possible to select “other payment methods”.

Hard workaround to make an order work! If you order many small items from Simon the shipping costs for each item get totaled and skyrocket even though they will all go in one small package. I ended up for now ordering the same items elsewhere on aliexpress with free shipping until there is a way to work around this. It shouldn't be so difficult just to order something.

Thanks MascaratumB! I did try but it won't work and it doesn't let me use PP so I ordered elsewhere today for now.

Sorry to know that it didn’t work :zipper_mouth_face: It is a sometimes weird site/app.
I normally use the app instead of the site, so I don’t know if there are differences.

I hope you manage to get it done in a next time and that you receive your stuff now

Yes, this is something I was also aware long ago. In Simon's shop any and all items feature “built in” shipping cost, this means the basic shipping cost is included in the price of the first unit of whatever thing. If this were a very small amount, this could work, but it is not a small amount and so it doesn't works.

The solution is to set the shipping cost independently, so the actual item value is reflected in its price. Allow the shipping cost to add afterwards. Many AliExpress sellers do it this way, and it works. As sellers, you are fully responsible for both the costs of items and the cost of shipping and handling. After all, what the buyer sees is the total to be paid, this is what counts.

That's the thing, shipping is not cheap for minor items and when you order so many different little items together, it just isn't worth it. I always prefer to order from Simon as he is a good guy, always helpful and knowledgeable, but it would be nice if he could make it easier to adjust the shipping.

By app I guess you mean you order from your phone which I have not done myself yet, just from my pc at the moment.

Thank you!

The 17mm driver for RED LEDs.

Will work with an S2+ pill when the threaded retaining ring is used? Do the components on the battery side interfere?

Thanks.

Simon,

Is the L21a Holster available anymore, or out of stock?

thank you.

Simon,

Still looking for a replacement L2 reflector, with ∅9mm bottom hole and smooth.

Recently checked AE L21A Culpm1, there already had some reviewer, sadly no beamshot. I actually really curious, what is the candela’s amount??hmm

It was stated by Simon with 1190m throw. So by calculation. It’s roughly 350kcd.

I have only see 2 tests so far. 1 is from Funtastic (his own biuld). Another from Chinese reviewer. Both of them get more than 1300m throw.

Will need more reviews and tests from others.

Hello everyone,

I’m buying my first true flashlight. The convoy S2+ is the obvious choice.
I’ve been studying, reading and comparing for some time, to decide on SST-40.

This was true, until I recently discovered Simon offers S2+ with LH351D with new 5AMP (non 7185) driver.
I checked specifications along with test here on BLF online - and it seems that 3AMP is maximum with LH351D, unless I want to risk my led to burn.

The question is - how does the 5AMP driver works with LH351D? Doesn’t it destroy the led? Is this driver safe with this led? Or do I need to set the 12group driver to e.g. 0.1% 1% 10% 50% and never put it on 100%?

Please can you explain?

It works fine. Search for ‘lh351d test’ within this forum. It can withstand way higher amperage than 3A.

Yeah, the only thing that I would consider limiting to 3A is Nichia emitters - E21A a lot less, but 219b is about 3A. LH351D, I’d throw 5A at it without blinking.

Last time I selected webmoney as a payment method, it sent me to webmoney website then I closed the page, the order was left ”unpaid” and I could ask Simon for blf discount/consolidate shipping costs
