Oh no! The price is too hard to resist. I think my kids each need one in their favorite color, and I planned on only 2 to mod, but I think for such a good deal, I need more.
Nah…it’s plenty for after dark. I’m going to get my kids used to the levels of light I find enough for typical scenarios, and introduce them to higher power lights as they get old enough to use them responsibly.
Haha, despite having some of the original C01 lights and a bunch of C01S…I also couldn’t resist this price, especially not with so many anodizing options.
I need to start giving more away as gifts, or my peers will (correctly) start thinking that I have a problem!
Does anyone know if sofirn will be fulfilling aliexpress orders? Ordered a 3400k when they first showed up there a while back which hasnt been dispatched. Dont want to miss out!
I was excited about this at first—especially given the price—but then I was trying to figure at what the c01 5mm succeeds that the C01S doesn’t. Both are cri 95. The C01S (L-H) has low mode but also has the added versatility of a high mode, and it’s only 3bucks more. I also hate to pay 3usd shipping on a 4usd light.
Not sure how, it has something to do with simplicity and robustness, if those are most important to you, buy the C01. The C01S is pretty robust too, but having more moving parts, there is a bit more that can go wrong.
For me, what also counts is that thanks to rngwn I have a small collection of 5mm leds with great CCT’s and under BBL tints that I can swap into the C01, those are not easy found in 3535-size leds.
Floody beam on the C01, rather than throwy on the C01s. Warmer color temperature, and in my experience, better overall tint. Also better efficiency, I think, but I haven’t tried a controlled comparison.
I’m not worried about talking you into it. It appeals to some people, but not everyone. Personally, I really like the C01.
