Well djozz, we can’t be all winners Silly

Ordered just two, but for €4.88/pc shipping included I’m also a happy person.

You are a flashaholic if you are forced to come out of the closet, to make room for more flashlights.

I may be a looser for adding 26 lights to my hobby going nowhere in the end Silly

At least I have already two lights taken by a collegue who wants to have them for his children, And I’m sure at least half of the 26 will end up as children’s presents. (they are great for secret reading in bed under the covers Wink )

I had a spare AAA eneloop laying around, so I bought one of these to keep it safe in Big Smile

Wrong thread, Kona. There’s a dedicated one for that light.

Is the difference between c01 and c01s just the emitter? Tint aside, whats the diff between the emitters?

C01S, with SST20 4000K and two brightness levels(5LM/100LM), is more powerful than C01 5mm led with only one brightness about 5LM

ok thanks!

Oh no! The price is too hard to resist. I think my kids each need one in their favorite color, and I planned on only 2 to mod, but I think for such a good deal, I need more.

i think for kids, they would want the 100lm c01s, i dont know if they would like something that barely shines

Nah…it’s plenty for after dark. I’m going to get my kids used to the levels of light I find enough for typical scenarios, and introduce them to higher power lights as they get old enough to use them responsibly.

Perfect!

A rugged storage tube with a battery test function, so you’ll always know if the battery is above 0.6V! Wink

all very good points, and i agree….im just saying from a kids perspective, at least when i was little, i liked flashlights that were bright, not dim

Haha, despite having some of the original C01 lights and a bunch of C01S…I also couldn’t resist this price, especially not with so many anodizing options.
I need to start giving more away as gifts, or my peers will (correctly) start thinking that I have a problem!

Neither 670nm nor 3400K lights are shipped yet.

I was excited about this at first—especially given the price—but then I was trying to figure at what the c01 5mm succeeds that the C01S doesn’t. Both are cri 95. The C01S (L-H) has low mode but also has the added versatility of a high mode, and it’s only 3bucks more. I also hate to pay 3usd shipping on a 4usd light.

Someone talk me into it.

Not sure how, it has something to do with simplicity and robustness, if those are most important to you, buy the C01. The C01S is pretty robust too, but having more moving parts, there is a bit more that can go wrong.
For me, what also counts is that thanks to rngwn I have a small collection of 5mm leds with great CCT’s and under BBL tints that I can swap into the C01, those are not easy found in 3535-size leds.

Floody beam on the C01, rather than throwy on the C01s. Warmer color temperature, and in my experience, better overall tint. Also better efficiency, I think, but I haven’t tried a controlled comparison.

I’m not worried about talking you into it. It appeals to some people, but not everyone. Personally, I really like the C01.

Anyone found some kind of comparison “C01 with 670nm RED” vs “C01S RED 660nm?

I have cancelled all my orders with Sofirn.

I got a message from sofirn that the 8.99 price for two C01 Red 5mm 670nm lights was a mistake. I requested they cancel that order. I also cancelled the order for two C01R SST-20 660nm.

sad to see such inaccurate pricing info on the sofirn site.. Im not amused…

Has this been solved somehow?

After reading your post I was waiting for Sofirn to contact me, but that didn’t happen.

yes
I requested and received a refund for all my pending orders

I then reordered two C01 5mm Red 670nm.

I did not reorder the C01R, even though I like the 3 modes, because I already have one, and I decided the C01 single mode Red would make a simpler gift for a muggle.

The application is for red light therapy, for migraine and menstrual pain. The beam artifacts dont matter for that. And the single mode will ensure the battery has long life.

Update

the big boss told me there will not be a next batch of C01 5mm led lights in the future, because the cost is too high by adding expenses of labour

The price of $3.99 (free shipping on orders above $21) is the best I can strive for you guys.

Some of you may hate the $2.99 shipping fee, I hate it too, but it can NOT even cover the real cost if you buy only one.

It’s the best I can offer.
