Convoy S21B, Osram KW CULPM1.TG, 410m ANSI (measured)

Just received my Convoy S21B KW CULPM1.TG. It has some strange, 3 weak oval circles, around the main beam. Is this as it should be?

Wow, thanks for shots of the S21B CULPM1 ! That is awesome!

Simon,

I just received my L21A CULPM1 last night! I wanted to say these things -

1. this was my first order from you, and my first convoy products (also got m21a CSLPM1) and they are fantastic! Build quality, threading, packaging, and looks. all awesome.
2. I received this order in 18 days to Eastern USA! I think that is amazing. No BS, just order and ship. Really appreciate that!
3. Both lights are VERY impressive! They both throw massively! The M21A with CSLPM1 is iconic - 21700 battery, C8 size, Super light and pocketable, and out throws all others close to its size i have. Look forward to having this as a go to light.
4. The L21A is a TOOL, it is solid, and very nice looking and seemingly unbreakable. Easily programmed it to my desired setting (#10). This thing throws easily with my other throwers of $100+. i couldn’t be happier.

Mine is the same. Purple outer ring.

An even cloverleaf is a good indication it’s well-centered. Any “irregularity”, eg, 2 short and 2 long, only 3 lobes, etc., generally means it’s a bit off-center.

The smaller the chip, the more critical it is to center it, and the harder it is, too.

I am glad to hear that you like them

It is pretty even with 3 leafed clover, so guess it is well centred. I tested it yesterday and am pretty impressed for this small form factor to be. Will keep it as is. Also considering to buy L21A or the upcoming SBT 90.2.

Why Culpm1 tint look more neutral than the other cslpm1? isnt they same 6500k? Dude, I prefer these Culpm1 tint :+1:

I have no idea, but it looks like neutral. And it is not because of my camera.

@Simon

Is ramping speed fixed in M3-C?

Possible to buy S21A with HighCRI: LH351D or SST20?

thank yyou

I dropped one of Simon’s CULPM1.TG into an M21C and the tint is quite nice. I measured CCT ~5000K. I like it a lot more than the cold white Osrams.

Finally, for me this is really great news…or that before I order, I assumed them to be 6500k, I was focus on distance and lumen and the 2*2mm die.

Kinda feel like I’m walking into a movie midway through…

What’s the pull of this and the CSI.NY LEDs? Power? Throw? CRI? Whut?

It’s a 3V LED so it will work, though it won’t drive the LED to it’s max potential. I’m using Simon’s 8A buck driver.

The Osram’s have very small emitting areas so have more throw than other LEDs. The CULPM1.TG is a 4040 package so can be driven to higher currents than the 3030 variants.

Unfortunately I don’t have a spectrometer to measure CRI. It’s ~4900K at the lowest current setting and ~5250K at 8A. I’m getting ~1600 lumens OTF with the M21C host. I got decent focus just dropping it right in with one of the 4040 centering rings. I did have to put a shim under the bezel as the reflector moved around slightly if I shook the light too hard due to the thinner centering ring.

Can’t get any beamshots tonight; it’s pouring rain outside.

Aha, tnx!

So these are the Next Best Thing vs the white/black flats, I imagine.

I haven’t heard a peep, though, about secondary issues like tintshift, fried-egg beams, nasty coronas around the hotspot, etc.

Must be killer behind an aspheric, though. Teenytiny dot of light packed full o’ lumens.
