3 AA batteries ... on sale for $2

low med high Nice positive click ... but sadly it has PWM and you have to run thru all modes to shut it off ..Still , for $2 it's kinda nice .

Yep it even comes with the rope handle for convenient carrying .

wishing I'd bought a second one so when I break it trying to mod it I have a spare .

Has anyone else bought one of these ?

Suggestions for modding ?

Looks great except for the PWM. How noticeable is it?

i know its a cheap thing but a penny adds a capacitor across the led to smooth out the pwm some.
some of us are sensitive to the strobing.
i have one similar from walmart i will experiment with.

Will it last longer than a year?

I realize this is an old thread but that link is just for the picture. I tried to go on the site but it won’t download.

here’s something for $2 updated from Menard’s:

Menards still had them a few weeks ago but they had gone up to $5 .. Of course kicking myself for not buying a second one to play with . it probably only needs about 17$ worth of parts to make it worth having .

The best part is the fact it's 3 AA instead of AAA's ..and ...it looks nice lit up . Having to run thru all the modes just to shut it off is a pain but at least there's no spasmodic strobes or sos.

Nice warm tint .Approx 3500K high is 100lumens ? med 50? 30 low ??? i have no idea really ,it's not bright ..and it's not terribly dim.Modes are going to be useful only to increase runtime since they aren't different enough to warrant three modes .. it would be a better two mode light or 3 if it had a very low moon mode .

next time I want the british racing camping tent green color instead of the black accents .

$2 well spent .
