Fireflies NOV-MU 21*Nichia E21A mule 1x21700 Flashlight --in stock

When they announced this I did some brief googlefu and all I could come up with was that it’s likely used in Chinese tool battery packs.

I really would love to see some kind of cover in the front that hides the cables, screws and other components on the MCPCB other than the main LEDs. I guess to me it just looks cluttered, or like someone forgot to put a reflector in. Mules rarely look deliberate to me. Would maybe have to move the solder pads for the LED wires a but further towards the outside, and make sure not to block any light coming from the main LEDs. A cover made from white, heat resistant plastic would be great. Not sure how well aux LEDs would work through it, but maybe those could be moved more to the center and not be covered by the plastic cover...

When is the expected released date and price? I’m interested…

I think aux lights just add unnecessary cost and complexity to a light.

I’d be interested in the 3000K and 4500K version of this.

I agree with others who have suggested putting a frosted lens (maybe as an optional extra) on this flashlight. I think that would even out the cct shift across the beam.

It might be too late in the development process, but if there was a way to include a 1/4 thread mount somewhere on the light (like the Acebeam EC65) that would make it even better for photographers. That would make it easier to mount it on a light stand pointing into an umbrella or softbox.

Fireflies NOV-Mu 21*Nichia E21A Indoor&Photograph Flashlight doesn’t list led specs yet.

A decent clip even!

Ah so this one is not budget torch …too much for me…

very nice videos of this new flashlight are on Jacks facebook…if anybody is interested in:) i see silver short version.looks nice:)

It is beautiful

Marked as stock on site, but in cart become unavailable.

Any updates on when it’ll be available to buy?

Iam waiting too…too much silence about this very nice project

Some information would be helpful about the available (or planned) CCT choices.

Also, for me, this price is a bit of setback, even if this is a completely new design.

I just successfully placed an order for NOV-Mu with E21A R9050 2000K! I also ordered E12R with Nichia 219B sw45k.

There are 2 emitter types available:
Nichia E21A R9080 4500K
Nichia E21A R9050 sm2050 2000K

Just put in an order for the R9080 4500K! Looks rad.

Would love to see a soda can light with these emitters and a good heatsink for longer turbo.

I would prefer the 6500k version, or perhaps the 5700k one

The 5700K E21A have been tested to be 6,000K+ on turbo.

I just ordered two of these! I already have the KR1 4500K and 2200K mule and use them on a daily basis. The NOV-MU fixed or added all the features I wished to see in the KR1 mules. I ordered the 4500K and 2000K.

I was waiting for the E21A 2000k because it is the best “white” emitter in existence for preserving night vision, least suppression of melatonin, and closest to candle light. Perfect for use as a permanent table lamp or candle replacement with USB-C plugged in.

I wonder if they work with no battery using usb-c cable

Ordered one of these with the discount code, but was disappointed to see no E21A thrower for sale to go with it :frowning:
My current SST20 thrower gets too hot and kills battery…
