Olight 21700 Head Lamp

Is this for real?
I heard that Olight is releasing a new Perun 2, on their Black Friday sale, is this it?
Perun 2

Also see this Olight i5T UV light: i5T EOS UV

Why did you post that weird members only no contacts available site?

Why not go to olight??

https://www.olightstore.com/perun-2.html

The light weighs 161g (OMFG!!!)
It runs for 2 mins before going to standard 18650 lumens.
Why would anyone want to carry an extra 100g and for what? 2 mins of turbo?
2170 light are too heavy for the forehead. Maybe a helmet light, but then back to 2 mins.

43g 1hr 2000 lumen headlamp

When I posted this thread, Olight had not released this light yet, and that was the ONLY web site that had posted ANY pictures of it.

Nice looking light, I’m a sucker for that orange. Probably no thanks for me though, not impressed by Olight for the price.

Its not just Olight. Now new trend over-weighted headlamps.

What do people use/need headlamps for with 2,000 lumens. Certainly not hiking.

If you need more autonomy you can use wired external battery pack mounted on belt or in bag. Lumens are subjective… i don’t need to shine like sun for 12h ;))

Hiking to me means a trail in the mountains. I’d like for my eyes to be somewhat dark adapted and I’d like to use no more light than necessary for that reason and so that the battery will last. I can ramp it up a bit for sections that require more light.

Very high lumens is more like trying to make the night like day. Not necessary or even preferable IMO.

Even walking around my yard or neighborhood at night is better with less light. With 2000 lumens you are just drawing attention to yourself and likely disturbing every neighbor around.

Light is a replacement for fear:)

Yes, I live in Seattle. We have the Cascade Mountains within a 45 minute drive. There are trails everywhere but especially in the winter where it’s covered with snow you can go anywhere you can get to. There’s also the Olympic Range to the west plus Mt. Rainier.

Finding mountains around here isn’t hard.
