Kewl! Nice to know it uses a Gree LED and has a hidden charging mouth!

and here are some $9 cycling gloves to go with the bike light using code 2DN3VSX4:

What do they mean by “Hand Orientation Ambidextrous”?
A and B selection is a bit ambiguous also
Butt for $8.49 I have a pair of L gray b coming (free returns ya know))

I got my two lights today. After a bit of futzing around I was able to adjust the panel and light/sensor for my installation, which is inside a carport. Sun comes through a sunlight to charge. I got home late in the day, so the panel didn’t get a lot of light before dark. I eventually figured out the switch is a slider (like me) not a push button, and got it turned on. I did a quick compare side by side, the light puts at least as much light as my LT1 on high. Its plenty bright in my setting. Its advertised at 800 lumens, I believe it.

I did a quick disassemble of the panel to see what sort of battery is in it. Reviews said it was not replaceable. After removing 8 small screws, I found a single 2200mAhr 18650 cell charged to about 3.8V. I measured the current draw, its 1A. The panel housing has an o’ring and a tongue and groove fitting, so I imagine it’s pretty water resistant. I didn’t disassemble the lights, just the panel housing.

If I could have bought one for $13 it would be a screaming deal. I didn’t need two, but I’m happy with the purchase and would definitely do it again. Hope it lasts as long as the one I bought 6 years ago and is still going strong, but is much dimmer.

48AA not enough?
how about 100?
or 100 AAA?
50/50?
$38-40.
WOOT.

:+1: Thanks

gamble on some Solar Christmas (or fairy) Lights for $6.50 with code 5998PYKT:

Nb: that’s for a tupac of WW or CW, but there’s also a colored version (1-per) for 6fitty, too.

I got a few of those that take batteries, for indoors, and they’re pretty nice. Thinking of getting a solar version to put outside and not have to screw with it, just set’n’forget.

Just because, I had to measure the charge current on the solar charged security light
Charges at 0.25A, so like the manual says, even if its fully depleted a good day of sun will get you mostly charged back up again. And you would have to run it for a couple hours for it to get depleted. If the battery doesn’t go belly up, and it doesn’t leak, then this should last forever. When the cell dies, just pop in another.

Oh, I started to take one of the light housings apart, and one of the screws wouldn’t back out. So I put it back together and noticed two of the screws seem stripped. So this could be a source of the leaks that were reported in the reviews. It looks fine, and I’m guessing it will be fine, but that may be the weak point.

ThruNite T1 Magnetic Tailcap for $30 using coupon:

Wowtac H01 16340 headlamp with batt about 15USD after clickable 20% off coupon plus 10% promo code from zeroair’s review Wowtac H01 Headlamp Review - ZeroAir Reviews

15 is about right as it seems to be only half as good as it’s Thrunite counterparts.

Which one is twice as good ? Can you provide a link to the twiceness ?

Twice as good for twice the price seems like a parallel bargain .

Thrunite TH01 headlamp (35% coupon) and the T1 as seen above (25%) are both about 30 USD right now with the clickable coupon. The Wowtac 16340 versions of these are the h01 and the W1.

The Thrunites offer more capacity (18350 vs 16340), higher output and regulation, longer runtimes with more efficient drivers and XHP50 vs XP G2 emitter, and ramping UI.

I bought a Wowtac as a gift, but for myself I like nice flat regulation so I would choose the Thrunite for myself. You get what you pay for here and I think either the Wowtac or the Thrunite are decent kits for the price.

Good find! Snagged myself one. Hoping it’s more easy with USB charging in the light (Vs. in the battery like in the C5)

:+1: :+1: :+1:

This was fairly easy to assembly, seems all metal (except maybe the flexible part) and is very intuitive. I figured out how to turn on, up, down, change the color, in about 15 seconds without the manual. Nice light.

I'm ok with the extra weight for the moment and I'm finding it useful.

How does it compare against convoy s2+?
Looks like good deal with the battery.
However, coupon expired already.

  1. You'd need an SST40 in an S2+ to be as bright;
  2. Length is right at the same;
  3. C3 has USB charging.

Still under $18 with code.
