Fireflies E07 preview

If you can use turbo for much longer than that, the turbo isn’t high enough IMO!

I can turn it down myself (with the button or with the software) if I want a longer running level of brightness. Turbo is for momentary use…that’s literally the whole point of having a turbo. Like nitrous on a vehicle. Use it too much and it’ll probably blow up, but it’s there for short bursts when you really need it. :sunglasses:

I was happy until it broke - switch doesn’t register clicks. I’ve contacted the company about the issue. They asked me to provide video evidence, which I did and then I got ignored. Not recommended.
Just go buy Emisar/Noctigon from Hank. I’m sure you’ll be more satisfied in the long run.

the same happened with the switch in my pl47. If you remove the rubber of the switch, you will probably find a small, round and thin golden plate that is loose

I buy ooonly usb lights…emisars are usb negative.

Ummm… E07 is not usb…

Just wait a while. Jack is real busy and doesn’t check messages and emails for days or even weeks at a time. I’m guessing he is focused on the new lights right now. But he will surely get back to you.

Jack had over a dozen “defective” lights shipped to me to check. More than half of the lights were fine and I couldn’t reproduce the claimed issues. I suggested to him from then on that he should request customers to show videos of the defect before allowing a return. I’m glad he listened. Business is hard for small businesses when people treat returns like it’s Costco.

E07 does not have usb. E07v2 and all the new Fireflies lights coming out will have usb-c fast charge along with other major improvements.

Can I remove it with no damage? Will I be able to put it back? Did you fix yours?

6 months have passed since then so it must be something else. Maybe he somehow forgot about me… which is doubtful. I’ve reminded him about myself after a week to no awail.
Should I contact him through his site or on the forum? Can you link me to his profile?

Skv89.thanks to you many times…how can be me so blind…this model has no usb.i almost ordered…cant believe this happens to me…thank youuu…order deleted.uhhh

I’m eagerly awaiting the release of the gen2, hoping for a more throwy optic. And if they can make it brighter that’s always a plus. The gen1 is still one of my favorite lights.

I removed the cover, the cover was not damaged, unfortunately the micro-switch broke down and I do not have enough skills to fix it, pl47 is difficult to repairs

I just received an E07 from BG. 2 minutes later I broke the glass lens.

The glass between the optics and the bezel was rattling so I unscrewed the bezel for a looksee and the glass rolled out and hit the floor tiles - broken.

1) Where can I get a replacement?
2) I see mention of a UCL 35mm x 1.9mm UCL lens but will that fit without mods?
3) Is this it? UCL Lens - Flashlightlens.com - Online Store
4) Is it bezel - oring - glass or bezel - glass - oring?

Tail cap has button - no spring. Is that normal?

1 & 2) The UCL lens works but the bezel has a very slight gap using it. It does improve the tint of the beam though. However, there are cheaper options I suspect: Ask FireFlies directly (ff-light@hotmail.com), they are usually open to selling parts. The other option is to find an (online?) store that sells watch parts. They sell clear glass is any size and thickness you could ever want typically.

3) yes
4) bezel, oring, glass - almost always. There is a groove in the inside of the bezel and that keeps water from coming in the front. There is usually another O ring on the outside body threads that keep water out from the sides.

*I sent my copper E07 back to Jacky in the US address for fixing because 3 things were broken and wrong and I am still being ghosted by him. I repeatedly messaged and emailed FF and Jacky, and always got ghosted. 2 years at this point and over $100 down the toilet. DON'T BUY FIREFLIES OR ANY OF THEIR NEW BRAND THEY ARE A BAD COMPANY *

how sad… they dont stand behind their warranty and lights :person_facepalming:

They do stand behind their warranty. I’ve had lights replaced. Their communication is not good at times because it is a one man company and Jack likely has other business/work so he disappears for periods of times and return. That’s my experience dealing with FF in the past few years. They make great products and hopefully they can grow bigger so they can hire more people to deal with customers or at least so Jack can devote more time to his flashlight business.

I just ended up with a clear anno E07 with 219b sw-45k’s in it. It is the 3 leg version, not that I am worried and the assembly on the aux board looks pretty good. Someone has turned the pot down all the way on the outside ring of aux lights, they do not light. That is fine by me as the middle ring are cyan and look pretty good. I have them turned off anyway and love that 2 of the 4 switch leds turn off as well. Can tell that these are early vintage sw-45k’s, the tint is beautiful! This is my first Fireflies light, don’t know why it took so long… I did feel that they were always over priced.

I have a couple of questions though… it is running very early Anduril. I would like to get a later version on it for the low/high option when locked out. What MCU is this driver running? Where in the world do you get the Lexel flash key, I have Hank’s but it is different.

TK, what version should I run on this light? Will it run Anduril 2?

BTW, 3000’ish lumens of sw-45k is really wonderful!!!

I’ts been a while but I recall the following:

  • Lexel/HQ Prog Key key are compatible or get 6 hands and hold pins in place one time with any DIY method.
  • It’s the usual ATtiny85 MCU
  • I think you need to use the setup file for the PL47 version 1, TK always said FF just re-used PL47 firmware for all their lights during this time period so there was never a true custom one made?
  • If you do go forward with it I believe you have to disconnect the aux board temporarily

Or you can solder the 6 pins directly to the pads like I did on a FT03
