Waterjet Channel cuts open an Imalent MS18!

Ok I know this hurts. But it’s fun to see two muggles cut open the brightest light available. They also compare it to a Ebay 90.000LM light.

Given that the battery is built-in it’s good that they used a waterjet rather than some metal saw.

Exactly. Imagine cutting into 8 21700s? I’m still surprised it didn’t even smoked…

Wellp, I could picture a coupla Ukranian guys who’d use a metal-bladed saw…

All in their appropriate safety gear (goggles, flipflops, and shorts), of course.

Well with a water cutter you would assume the majority of it was pushed into the cutting surface and rest was just drenched in liquid preventing the smoking part.

They found a void in an anvil too, shame on you HF for trying to hide defects.

Thanks for the link Maverick1947

Water jets are bad ass machines.

Those guys were completely flashlight illiterate. And couldn’t even count. They were unworthy of that Imalent MS18, it’s probably for the best that they destroyed it. We’ll call it a mercy killing. I’m glad it’s no longer suffering.

Does the Imalent have a liquid coolant pump, or what is the copper tubing in the heatsink?

Looks like a copper heat pipe, for transferring heat away from the LEDs.

I cringed at that . Such a waste of a great light .
