✌ FREEME - Limited Edition Copper / Brass ASTROLUX FT03 XHP50.2 / SST40 Anduril LEDs USB-C Flashlights - ALIVE

New was it is coated

Coated.

I think all is coated, but the battery tube is not. I can say more tomorrow. The battery tube smells like copper and the rest not. The bezel is not copper. When you go to high or turbo, the light comes through the coating itself and it shines a bit. We know it from the ff-light E07 copper. It’s the same Look.

Robert

Yes it appears you are, so step up and send some pictures please?!? :innocent:

I’m dying over here, I want to see it! What are your thoughts on it? I still have probably 2 weeks before mine comes in…

EDIT: sorry, just saw your last post… about tomorrow. But still, please send some pictures then

I don’t gave the Fireflies copper your talking about, what do you mean the light shines theough the coating? Also is the bezel SS?

The quality is very good so far. No dents or scratches at all. The last lights in copper or brass arrived in vacuum plastic bags, but this light doesn’t. So I think the coating is the answer.

Robert

Yes, I think the bezel is SS

Robert

Any idea on the best way to remove the coating to let it patina naturally?

Buffing wheel with appropriate compound and fiber. I’d say brown compound and cloth wheel.

New Giggle Light

Is this still available to get in on?

There might be a few left. Note that prices do fluctuate a little during promo period.

I have a couple questions for everyone here who ordered a Brass or Copper FT03 -

1. Is this Limited edition FT03 your first FT03?

2. Are you planning on using this Limited Edition Normally? Like in your “rotation”. Or will this be more of a shelf/box queen?

The reason i ask is because i am torn on what i will do. I already have a ft03 and a ft03s. I am contemplating just unboxing my Copper ft03s when it comes in, admiring it briefly and making sure it works, and then putting it back in the box to keep its pristine-ness. I have about 30 flashlights, and i use them all. obviously some more then others, but i don’t have any boxed up - meaning this would be the only one. It seems silly to me on one hand to box a cool light like this, but on the other hand it is a limited edition… This will also be my first “limited edition” light as well.

Any thoughts out there? What will you do?

I have sst40 version. Thinking about selling.
The copper will be used lightly and shelf queen like most other lights

lol, good point.

Thanks for the feedback. Im just wondering what others who bought into this unique/specialty light were thinking. I mean lets face it, a 700+ gram, beautiful copper or brass thrower isn’t the most utilitarian type of light, it screams more “fancy” to me then hunting/camping/hiking like i use other lights for. to be honest, i was pretty certain i didn’t want this light because i couldn’t see a practical use for it. then again it is so cool i couldn’t help but to buy it. lol

I don’t think anyone bought it to chuck in their tool box. Probably hunters would use this the hardest. The rest of us with a few lights it’s going to sit 95% of the time so bonus it looks nice.
I don’t have a sbt90 either. Was considering the wurrkos but its smaller head and not out yet. For 100$ i could not pass on this deal

  1. Yes, i asked them to label it as limited it because of premium metal and limited quantity. 350pcs combined and there is no plan for second release for now.
  2. It would be The prettiest shelf queen in my collection for some time. I can't keep my eyes off her right now. Light is so dense and it felt like holding a piece gold ingot in my palm. It is an amusing feeling that makes you giggle from time to time.

Great to hear! Can’t wait!

This will be my first SBT90.2 so mine is going to be used and knowing me will probably be abused somewhat. I always end up dropping them or at least knock them off the table onto the floor. Or have it wedged under a 4 ft. mower deck as I slide it across a rough cement floor. That totally beat up a FT03 but now it is the best looking light I have. It made me feel bad at the time but now I love the look.

I totally understand leaving it in the box. Many, if not most people, have all kinds of things they collect that never leave their boxes. Some people do it for investments especially on limited editions and others just enjoy having a classy item like your Copper FT03. I fall into the second category with the stuff I leave in boxes. Usually I have one that I use and a second one that stays new.

The main thing is to just enjoy it.
