So, I decided to make a list of flashlights (from known brands, not “all” the brands) that are charged through magnetic charging and inductive charging.

Some are already discontinued, but they “exist” in the flashlights world!! Due to this, I didn’t include links for products, but you can search for the names and get some results

I am sure they are not all represented here, so be my guests to point out the ones that are missing (brands and/or models) and I’ll be editing the post.

fran82 was the first in our community to have owned or reviewed such a light. it was like 10 or 20 years ago, a Klarus AA light with magnetic charging.

basically, Klarus was the first company with such a thing.

it was spectacular but didn’t become popular at the time. only after a decade did other companies pick up the idea and only after the USB charging was determined to be the wrong path to follow.

USB charging still exists but

Sorry, I didn’t go that further into detail, that would imply time I don’t have!

However, I can tell you that the Skilhunt M150 is one of those, it takes AA, Ni-MH and Li-Ion cells.
Probably there are others, but I can’t be sure on that. Maybe parametrek site can help you on that, as it crosses different information:

The skillhunt accepts AA but the USB charging only works with 14500…

Would be nice To be as good as the klarus rs1a that charges NiMh…

True, it only charges 14500s! I don’t know which (if any) others charge both chemistries.

I searched for something alike and couldn’t find any list, so I decided that I could put the information together. Hopefully more will appear in the market and can be added to the list :wink:

Charging lithium ion with CC/CV is easy………especially with all the single chips out there. But charging NiMh is a different story due to the dV/dt termination point. It’s harder to decipher and usually takes a microcontroller or more electronics. That I suppose is why not many with built in NiMh charging. I guess you could get close and be safe by just choosing 1.45v as the CV point. But different brands will have different termination voltages. I personally don’t know of any single chip NiMh chargers.
