Top Bill Spot
KR4 - Only light i use everyday, without exception. Its a beast, ive dropped it probably 100 times, the paint is wearing at the “seams”, its looking like a proper used light, and as hard as its hit the pavement numerous times it is still 100% reliable. and Bright. and easy to use. oh, that deep carry clip really just makes it faaaantastic. Hank killed it with this one. now just make us a Copper version, Please!
Favorite Purchase / Biggest surprise
Convoy M21a (w/ CSLPM1) - Just a great sized small thrower, sand ano is really nice. Mechanical switch is a great feel. I am convince it throws the same and has as Great Spill as my L21a CULPM1 to the point where i took then both apart to make sure they didnt have the same LED in them. Also 21700 battery lasts forever, and it doesnt heat up quickly at all compared to my other Osram Lights. For under $25USD, this light is porbably my favorite purchase of the year! Holster carry in the EC03 holster.
Others
Lumintop X9l - just awesome. really impressive for size, more than most others. Love this light.
Astroux EC01 (xhp50) - just surprising how much throw and spill this “little” light has! Charging and 21700 battery life. would buy again if it were in stock, but i have the sst40 coming in to compare it to.
D4v2 with either 3500k or 4500k E21A emitters; a reasonably efficient cc driver and Anduril; stainless steel bezel and raised switch ring; choice of 18650 and 18350 tubes. It ticks off everything and has the nicest tint; a great all-round EDC.
For me, 2020 is the most boring year since I started this hobby in 2011.
I have seen no interesting flashlight that I would like to buy in this year… but I hope Fireflies release NOV-MU 21*Nichia E21A before the new year, and I would buy it.
The only two flashlights I received in 2020 are LT1 (due to slow delivery as it was buyed in 2019) , and FW1A thanks to giveaway.
The first one I like very much)
Honorable mentions for some of the lights I purchased in 2020:
Most Beautiful: Lumintop FW3A
Just had to try a light with almost 1,500 posts in its troubleshooting thread. It is one of my favorite lights, but I would not recommend it to others as only two of my four FW3As are consistently reliable.
Best Moonlight: Manker E03H II
The lowest few of the multiple moonlight levels are lower in brightness than any other light I own, but only when used with a NiMH battery instead of a Li-ion battery. As an unrelated side note, I usually avoid tail cap magnets, but on right angle lights I have found them to be more useful since you can twist the light to point in the direction you want.
Most Unique: Sofirn IF25 (not to be confused with the IF25A)
Has tint ramping and a simple minimalistic user interface that meets most of my requirements. Also, along with an empty white colored pill bottle used as a diffuser, the IF25 rivals my "Sofirn LT1" as a lantern, but also functions as a flashlight.
Most Interesting: Wurkkos WK30 (with updated 365 nm UV LED)
Has a white, red and UV LED, but what impresses and interests others the most is using the UV light to examine the normally invisible security features on money, driver licenses, passports and the incredibly pervasive normally invisible stained interiors of their homes.
