Crowdfunding of mass model of SunLike bulb (TRI-R) updated 02.05.2021

Added.

Oooo, you should make a ~13W BR30 replacement. Would love to see that 3500k combo in our kitchen!

Edit: Added BR30:

Edit: In fact, the BR30 is even more suited to this configuration for LEDs. The A19 and A21 bulbs are designed to be closer to omni-directional, while the BR30 is designed for a 90 degree direction beam.

Edit2: If I could buy BR30 in 3500K SunLike 2835 that put out 1000 lumen for under $35 ea, I would buy 6 right now.

Evanh  :+1:

s. 5% discount for this man!

SunLike10x v.2 (9.5w) (RIRERA9) also can be 11w if 36 leds

RIRERA11 (can be 9.5w if 18 leds)

I can not find aluminium body BR30 =(

But I can add reflector if COB led(s)

s. use optiPNG to lossless optimise size of png files
(after that pngOUTwin for additional ~5%)

Those are some great sketches evanh, good work!
Did you use Inkscape?

Thanks Joshk, I use Figma for just about everything that doesn’t need more than 0.1mm precision.

Here’s an (optimized) png of my SORAA VIVID bulb. It’s a bit thicker than normal BR30’s, so I took measurements with calipers in case it helps to find another body that might fit.

SunLike, in a year or two years, with the work you are doing in this area, a company is going to try to buy you out in a way that may well sell you short, or worse maybe just take your work and market with a much larger backing fund.

I do hope you are preparing yourself for this.

By the way, subscribed. Future customer.

Evanh May be something like that?

p.s. I just measured the small one

Ф93x99mm

It’s close. If there was a way to extend it at the base by 14mm, it’d be about perfect. As is, it looks like it gets thicker too close to the socket.

EDIT: Looks like the max diameter of the recessed fixture is 113mm, so too small for the next size up.

Just use e27-e27 extender

I have these E27-E27 extenders from Amazon. They extend the bulb exactly 32.4mm.

I can add any long here (by nut or washers)

Or by this thing

Here are both options. I like the idea of risers best, since that gives us the ability to have the LEDs at the same depth within the fixture as a standard BR30. The overlays do show that it might still have a clearance issue though. I’d have to get a more detailed diagram of the standard BR30 fixture to check that clearance without just trying to screw something in.

The extender solves clearance, but also has the plane of LEDs 15mm further from the socket.

I just added MASS15D to my site — MASS15D

I’m surprised to learn that MASS15D costs more per watt than SunLike10 with SOL unless one buys 20 bulbs or more.
I guess that SunLike10 is not dimmable but I still find it surprising.

you mean 10X model?

eXperimental =)

It was born like cheap model with 6w COB led

With SOL led it costs 19$ (was 18$ first time) — SunLike9

Real it is 9.5w and when it is hot it is 9w

review here — Review: SunLike9 SOL COB E27 LED bulb (4000K, CRI99)

MASS15D have 60pcs 0.5W SOL2835 leds — SunLike SOL 2835 3.2в 0.4вт

Yes, really it is about 0.3w (with size of crystals)

My mistake, I meant SunLike9 and I used 9W for calculations.
2.11 $/W with any CCT compared to 2.33 $/W for MASS15D 4000K without discount and 2.4 $/W for other CCTs.

Dimmable and much more leds per wattage. That’s the reason =)

update 02.05.2021:

now all MASS models (9,11,15,gx53 and another) I produce without crowdfunding

but I am going to start MASS and CHEAP model. 12W for 22$

Ah, I was a bit confused what “mass” meant in this context. I see now it means “bulk”. Such as “buying in bulk”.
