SC31 Pro Diffuser Options

Hey all! I’m new to the forums and brand new to flashlights of this caliber. I picked up a SC31 Pro and a SP40. I’m looking at getting a diffuser for the SC31, but would like to know what my options may be. I couldn’t seem to find a US based seller for the genuine Sofirn diffusers and would like to have something in hand fairly soon, and I’m worried that purchasing direct would take a while. Are there any other diffusers that may fit it?

I’ve bought a lot of flashlights from their Aliexpress store and the more expensive models consistently arrived to my house in Belgium in about 2 weeks  The C01S’s for example took some more time but if you really want to maybe you can buy the diffusers + another flashlight  Or maybe choose another shipping option or even message the store directly, I’m sure they can figure something out!

A diffuser is usually and practically a semi-transparent piece of plastic. Which means if you are okay with DIY, you could almost always something from your household or grocery store which will fit the bill.

I have good luck with chewing gum or vitamin pill bottles and if you are into film photography the old 35mm film canisters work perfectly as a base for a DIY diffuser fitting the SC31. Usually a bit of cutting and sanding down the edges involved, but that’s a pretty easy and fast way to make your flashlight into a little lantern.

You may to DIY or if the diameter of the SC31 Pro’s head is around 25 mm, this Nitecore NDF25 may fit. It is also fit on Lumintop FW3A.

you can probably just put some scotch tape over it

I just use ceiling-bounce to not have an annoying point-source at eye level.

An impromptu diffuser can be made by rolling some waxed-paper into a “dunce hat” and taping it onto the end of the light.

That’s a great idea! I will see if I can find some somewhere locally.

I did see somewhere that someone said the S2+ diffuser may work. Has anyone else tried it?
