Mon. Dec. 7 the FT03s SBT90.2 has arrived. It looks great and seems to work fine. You instantly notice the difference in weight. With a 5500mah Vapcell it weighs 30.65 oz. compared to 14.06 oz. for an aluminum FT03 SST40. It will need to get dark here before I can actually give it a good check out. It does look extremely nice in the daylight.

Soo… mine hasn’t shown up. Said it was on track to and supposed to be received by 9pm, but doesn’t say “out for delivery” on the usps tracking site either. Hopefully tomorrow. Arrgghhhh! As long as it’s not lost in usps oblivion I’ll be OK .
On an unexpected note - my ec03 green body with sst40 came in today! So that’s awesome! Wierd though that I ordered that and cu sbt90 ft03 in same order, and the ec03 shipped the day after my ft03’cu sbt90 but ec03 came in first… confused and sad… kindve… lol.
UPDATE - 12/8 @ 10:40am - its still sitting in NY according to usps tracking. USPS has at least acknowledged it will be late, so i’m thinking if i am lucky i’ll see it by Friday. but i’m never lucky, so we will see.

That is annoying, i feel that pain except the problems i have are mostly with AX, not BG. BG has been good to me, with this ft03s Cu being my first “late” delivery out of about 15 orders…
AX on the other hand… my god. My last two orders are out in transit, one has been sitting in Georgia (allegedly) since 11/30, and the other (i ordered 10 days after the GA package) is in NY waiting shipment… but has been there for going on 4 days… My concern with those two orders is they are parts orders = small packages = easy to lose.
As a reference, i ordered (2) 21700 to 26650 converter tubes from AX (obviously a small package) and it took 3 months to come in. Im convinced it was because the package was 3 inches cubed and weighed less than a half a pound. an easy box to get lost in the front of a truck… Of course i didn’t order them by themselves because i knew it’d be a shipping issue, but thats how AX shipped it…
jp9mm - this will be your week, sometimes we get those orders that just “show up” in the mailbox, its happened to me once or twice, maybe that’ll happen to you? Like tracking didn’t follow it correctly and it shows up unannounced :laughing:

Nope, I have had absolutely no update since 12/6.
It arrived in NY 12/3, was supposed to be delivered to me on 12/7. USPS tracking says it left NY 12/6 and there has been no update since then except to tell me it will be late…
Last night I was finally able to take out the FT03s SBT90.2 Copper for a short time. I was pleased. The throw is a little more than the SST40 version but not really a big difference. The spill area is brighter with the 90.2 which I didn't know if I would like until I got into a more wooded area. There is where I was really impressed with it. You can see a wide area close to you but it isn't so bright as to blind you letting you still be able to see things at a distance.
The new knurling has a lot better grip than the old style, I am immediately a big fan of the new style.
The drawback, as already documented, is the greenish tint of the SBT90.2. Once you start actually using the light you won't hardly notice it but if you are used to a 5000 or 5700K emitter it will take a little getting used to.
I like the weight but WOW it is heavy when you have been using an aluminum FT03 every day. For those of you waiting on yours be sure to comment on the weight when yours finally arrives. Hopefully it will be very soon. I feel for you.

Well mine just showed up, first time i’ve been surprised by usps. Only scan was at the local shop before delivery today.
Overall very nice looking but there are numerous small blemishes. Was hearing a lot of crackling from turbo and cooling down but loosening and tightening the lens ring seemed to fix that.
I’ll have to compare to some other lights at night but was expecting more of a wow factor from the output indoors. Maybe that’s just what months of sbt90 lust brings…
I like the knurling a lot more and will make for a nice display piece in the living room
Damn, glad yours came in! I’m worried mine is lost, still no update. I was impressed with my aluminum ft03s, guess it depends what you already own. After getting and dedoming my mf02s xhp70 my sbt90 ft03 seems to standout less, but for the size it still impresses me with a wow factor, but I’m kind enough new to this, before I got my first ft03s my best thrower was the x9l, so big difference.
Looks like mine is out for delivery from my local post office. A week late, not too bad in grand scheme of things. I don’t know if anyone else hasn’t received there’s yet, but If anyone wants pictures posted later today I’ll do that.
Did you get it? Curious to know what you think of it because you had been so looking forward to getting it like I was. I was not let down and is a lot better looking in person than I expected.
I did get it! And it is awesome, even better than I was expecting! Also, even though performance is the same as my aluminum FT03 sbt90, it’s just so much more fun. The weight is awesome, the look is Amazing (yes mine has a couple blemishes in the finish here and there, but I don’t care because it’s still so pristine looking), and I’m so glad I went with the sbt90 bc it just adds to the “exclusive” feel. I don’t know, hard to explain but I’m very happy. Thanks for asking. And thanks Freeme!
Also, side note - although still a tiny halo in outside of beam, the reflector and beam seem MUCH better focused then my aluminum ft03s. Anyone else with both notice this?
