Well…beneath the plastic wrapper is a metal tube, and physically it should hold up just fine.
But I think the entire casing of the battery is the negative terminal, so you’d have to be mindful of anything metal causing a short.
Anyone know how the current AmazonBasics AAA High Capacity compare to Eneloop Pro? The description used to say “Made In Japan” (Eneloop rewraps) but they don’t list that anymore. One recent comment says their’s were made in China. I’m guessing they’re not rewraps of the Pro’s anyway seeing as the rated capacities don’t match any version of the Pro.
https://www.nkon.nl/ is working fine for me. Do you have some privacy add-on in your browser that’s blocking it? Try a different browser and/or device.
Wrappers are important on all batteries in my opinion. But it also depends on the application. If it doesn't have metal stuff that can touch the cannister, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Hi everyone, I am trying to recharge my Eneloop batteries with my BC1000 battery charger but a battery is not recognized and the display shows “null” as if the battery was not there. Should I throw the battery away or can I get it back somehow? It’s a “botanic edition” and I’m a little sorry … thanks in advance.
With all your cells or just one ? It does that if the voltage is below 0.9V. if you have another charger you can try to put it in it so that it raises the cell’s voltage above 0.9V (if it doesn’t have this type of protection), then put it in the BC1000. Or you can parallel it with another cell for a short moment, preferably not a fully charged one to not get a too high current.
Old style/slow/dumb chargers, the kind that take many hours to charge, are….very…slow/low output, and may never shut off, are worth having around for this. The will attempt to charge anything that will fit. Boost the ‘dead’ battery with one of these for a few minutes, and it will generally be recognized by a good smart charger then. Had to do that to 2 AAA cells from a used home phone system I got yesterday. All batteries being cycled and tested now.
If dumb charger does not work, do the parallel charge with another cell. If THAT does not work, you do have a dead cell.
