Non-Flashlight Things You Enjoyed Doing Today

I cut and hauled a pick-up load of firewood. Seems to be something instinctual about getting firewood in the fall—kinda like a squirrel gathering nuts or cones I guess. I have at least enough for the next 3 years piled up now but for a firewooder, there is no such thing as “enough”. Gotta keep hauling until the snow gets too deep. Just can’t help myself.

Wellp, it shore is purty!

Thank you.

Shopping for a new sewing box (mine`s all in large tin cans at the moment) and finaly settled on a nice wooden cantilever case that`s just perfect! also spent some time getting a few new colors of embroidery thread

I have only done the following not very fun non-flashlight activities today:

1. drove into city to routine dentist appointment (first in a long time)
2. called Internal Revenue Service several times to try to find out why I have not received my tax refund (much time pressing numbers on phone and waiting for agent)

That’s a great looking box ! :+1:

A nice, happy puppy returned narrative:

Half an hour ago, I was on my first leg of my daily six mile walk, a nice elderly gentleman at 223 Chestnut approached me to ask me if I had seen his lost tan short hair puppy; he told me he is asking me because he knows I frequent this area daily. I said no, but I asked him for his phone number, because I walk this route frequently. I wrote his number on my hand, and I proceeded half a mile, and a group of people at Marios' house on Cederwood approached me from the other side of the street, with a small dog cradled in arm, and ask me if I know whose dog this is; they are asking me, because they know I frquent the area daily. I gave them the address and phone number, they get in their car to return the dog to its owners house.

Nice, happy feeling. :)

Went up mountain, spent a couple hours snowboarding, until my toes froze and my legs wore out… Note to self, use the toe warmer packs I have in the car, next time… no point saving them… LOL

its a beautiful sunny day
Merry Holy Daze

Me, I got sprung from the hospital after two days of infusions. Good for another 4 weeks.
A LOT depends on which nurse comes in to set the line. Last two days had the one who always has to fish for a vein.
And I have really easy to find and stick bigg’ens close to the surface. Can’t imaging what some of the little old ladies or gravitational(y) challenged people have to go through sometimes.
All the Best,
Jeff

I have a really nice Shrunken head.

Thanks for reminding me , I think it’s time to order another

Everyone had a day off from work today, so I spent a lovely two hours at my favorite intersection with my "Black Lives Matter" sign and listening to NPR.

Beside flashlights, collecting firewood and walking through our forests. Should be a few feet of snow on the ground by this time of year, but as

you can see from the pics taken today, nearly nothing.

Whoa! That is not the December I remember when I lived in Canada

and we're 5 hours inland from Vancouver in the snow belt. Top pic is at 600m elevation and last pic at 450m. Not used to the lawns being so green but no one's complaining!

I like the interior of BC. I was born in MB.

Well, now I know why you love NM. MB has some seriously brutal Winters and was the first place in Canada where I fully understood what bone chill really meant.

Many of the people I grew up with still live in MB, but several now go south for the winter; some second homes in AZ or RV parks. They are all spending winter in MB this year.

And Binghamton N.Y. got 40 inches this week.
