First ever shorty

Just received the 18350 tube for my FW3A... It's my first ever shorty build... I really have no idea why I love flashlights so much... It's like an endless rabbit hole with more and more options waiting...

It's super cute...

Nice!

I am leaning towards 18350-size lights, too!

Can big lights be shortyified, too?

Short MT90, GT94, R90TS, and MS18 would be more options. That's what I like about the X65 short tube, HK90 and X45.

Less runtime. But shortier for you.

Single 21700 rendered short would be the slickness, too.

It may be short, but it's popular with my mates.. they keep asking to fiddle with it and are always amazed that something so small can be so powerful... Ooh Err! Missus!...

Hmmm... a 21350 cell form factor would probably have a fair bit more power than an 18350 if it maintained the same recent advances in tech that its big brother the 21700 benefits from. However, if it was just made using generic tech by a small cell maker, then it would probably be a bit of a waste, starting a new cell size. A 26350 would be a laugh, though, wouldn't it? Although it would probably suffer from severe over heating due to the volume:surface area ratio.

Aren’t there 26350 out?

Yes. I’ve had 2 26350 powering a MTG2 in a eagle eye x7 for 3 or 4 years.

I use the lanyard ring on my FW3A short tube and love it. Perfect size and looks great.

Not sure what the point of that is. The Fw3A is one of the smallest 18650 based lights. Its barely bigger then the battery itself. Also, the FW3A will deplete the 18350 battery in minutes.

Yeh, there’s a light nicknamed “Li’l Fatso” or somesuch. 26350 light, pretty nice, but rather thick so you would feel it in your pocket.

Well, I was close…

Love the 18350 - S41, S43S, D4, X1R, A6, GT mini

Just ordered my first 26350 batteries, 2 for Convoy L6 with L2 shorty tube, just for funzies and 1 + spare for EA01 on order. Maybe a D4Sv2 down if they come back.

Minutes? Hardly. I use mine on walks every night. I need to recharge maybe once a week. Sure, it is a reduced runtime by about a third but I can live with that. I rarely use turbo ( too hot too quick for that). I just keep it at an adequate level for my needs and it is fine. To each his own I guess.

Agreed that is a good looking 18350 flashlight! I have one shorty flashlight (a Convoy S2+) that I like it a lot, but the Keeppower 1,100 mAh capacity is noticeably less than my 18650 flashlights. But better than my 14500 flashlights which I prefer Li-ion over AA NiMH due to the increased lumens vs capacity.
