Interested at 200 or less

Edit: I’m also curious about aluminum vs stainless steel bezel. Would love steel.

hey freeme, would you be able to confirm with BG that this can be shipped to canada and get past the customs? i have heard that canada does not allow LEPs

I don’t know about all that, Also a fellow Canadian here and I’ve had LEP’s delivered without issue.

really! cuz i read that someone tried to order one, and it got rejected by the customs. do you remember if yours was marked as lep or just a regular flashlight?

Don’t recall how it was labeled got them from Neal.

Only typo I found was on the BG WP1 page - says 25,000 CD, should be 250,000 CD smile

Looking at the actual photo and the measurements of the item is it just me or is the rated CD seem to be very conservative. Based on its measurements I’m expecting north of 1.5m CD but then again my testing equipment is amateur at best for throwers. Facepalm

I’m interested at around 200, but what’s what? Are both new releases?

Why is there such a huge price jump from the WP1 to the WP2? The difference between the M2S and M1X was only $8.50. Even after the price went up the M1X with M4DMAX coupon still costed less than this. I’m still deciding whether I should go ahead with it. Will the price increase once the groupbuy ends and will there be another groupbuy after that?

Originally the Jetbeam M1X was $22.24 cheaper than the Astrolux WP2 groupbuy price. It did increase after some months but as far as I remember, it was still slightly cheaper. It’s the same light but with an updated UI (better IMO).

i just looked them up, the spec look almost identical, but theres a few differences.

wp2 has magnetic rotary switch.
wp2 is listed to be 100g heavier, which is quite a lot considering its 360 vs 260.
wp2 is listed to run 480lm for 4.4h while m1x run it for 2.7h

if all this is true, then wp2 seems to be running a more efficient driver, the extra weight might be due to the magnetic rotary switch? cuz the dimension is almost the same, with wp2 body being 2mm wider, but i dont think that would account for the 100g

The new M1X and WP2 have the exact same dimensions. I don’t think a more efficient would make that much difference to the runtimes. Maybe they just measured it differently. The weight is a bit more than I’d prefer, not really a dealbreaker though.

For some reason the only shipping option to UK is 25-30 days. Other lights have a 15-20 days option. Maybe it’ll update later on?

well since i havent gotten a pm after saying im interested if wp1 is 150 or under and wp2 is 200 or under, and assuming what you’re saying is true. then wp1 price is somewhere between 150-165, and wp2 is 200-215
