[BLF Joint-Development] WildTrail BLF Tactical Flashlight

Interested in one!

Interested. Looking forward to this project.

I’m interested in two!

I’d be interested if this light features these things:

  1. Body diameter of 1” to fit most aftermarket gun mounts and consistent diameter throughout body tube. No fins or anything protruding that will hinder mount installation. Most gun mounts are one pieced clamps. Tactical ring is OK just as long as it’s removable.
  2. Head size of no greater than 40-45mm so the head doesn’t obstruct gun mounting position
3)Remote Pressure switch with constant and momentary on (separate buttons) (as Accessory and/or with mount)
4)Quick and Simple UI that doesn’t have unnecessary modes (i.e. Low or Moonlight)
5)5000k temp or lower to reduce perceived bounce back glare for CQC (doesn’t have to be high cri)
  3. Full potted electronics or at least make it robust a much as possible. If having thicker walls doesn’t allow for 21700 batteries then so be it.

Having points 1-3 will widen your target demographic for dual use as a combat weapon light.

When I want to buy a “tactical light” I expect a tactical light only. I don’t need eco or moonlight modes. If I need eco or moonlight, then I’ll get a small backup flash light with those modes. I’m kinda tired of looking at “tactical” lights from manufacturers that does everything that a regular flashlight would and thus compromising the UI. If I needed extra runtime I will keep spare batteries with me. As all “duty” devices, the batteries shall be topped off every night/downtime and replaced when their capacity is diminished/compromised. I want a dedicated tactical light that will preform as expected/no guesswork and do it well. Definitely NOT a jack of all trades. Hell, Surefire was successful with having one mode lights. They are known for tanky tactical lights that cut out the bulls#!t.

Mechanical Forward Clicky in Tail (primary) and secondary Tail E-Switch (small and doesn’t impede primary). But I’m ok with a secondary body E-switch and that the switch doesn’t turn the light on. The idea to have a light that mimics a full output 1-mode light with everything else as non-priority. This is a characteristic of a true tactical light.

My UI would be this:
Primary tail switch is for constant turn on with full press/click. Half press is momentary on. Output from tail switch is always Turbo/High from off. Full output irregardless of what group you left it in. This is top priority, leave it alone.

The secondary switch is to switch groups. Side switch consists of 2 secondary modes only. Has to be “on” first to change modes so no accidental turn on/unpredictable modes from off

1-click from turbo/high = change to Medium* mode only (This mode should be consistent output throughout runtime). This mode’s purpose is if you absolutely need the runtime with usable light that is bright enough for at least medium distance (50yards)
Hold = change from Turbo/high or Med to Strobe. If anything, this mode could be programmable to have that silly eco mode instead of strobe.
1-click from Med/Strobe = Turbo/high
Hold from Strobe = Return to Medium
Also maybe, programmed to flip the 2 modes (Hold for Med/ Click for Strobe)

/The beauty of this is that you can quickly access turbo (1-click) from any group without cycling through unnecessary groups when on. Also the primary tail switch is will always be predictable with on/off constant or momentary (full output).

so yes you have to turn the light on to switch modes. Remember this a tactical light which full output is predictable and always quickly accessible no matter what.

Make it multicolour emitter tactical with green, red and white that would be the best.
Im keeping my eye this look intresting

Interested for one light!
Thank you!

Flooder+thrower
2021 will be the market for flashlights like Olight Murader 2 soo i hope somethings similer

Interested

so would this basically be SP35 with an added forward clicky tail switch?

Interested.

An additional red LED would be nice.

Interested for one light as well.

Interested in 2. Let’s make this happen!

Doesn’t look like this is happening!

Just lost momentum or what?

Interested in two.

BTW, any chance for an optional tailcap with a coil corded pressure contact switch so this can be used as a mounted weapon light?

Thanks!

“IF”…. it ever happens, count me in for a couple please. :white_check_mark:

Keen-o! One please!

This would be awesome.

But for those still looking for something similar…

The Sofirn TF84 (18650 form factor). Forward clicky (on/off), dedicated strobe switch and side switch (changes mode) and also comes with a remote switch as well.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08YX5SNYC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The TF84 has a alternating frequency strobe, so missing out on sales to light painting photographers who require constant frequency strobes.

In for 1
