One thing I realized I overlooked mentioning is that this model has the common issue of a slight preflash when turning it on in moonlight (loosened bezel), so I'd understand if you change your mind.
"Operating your Quark Pro AA is simple. Make sure its batteries are inserted with the positive side (+) toward the head. Ensure the bezel (the 'head' of the light) and tailcap are tightened, then depress the tailcap button fully so that it 'clicks' and the light turns on.
The two most commonly used modes are Max and Moonlight, the highest and lowest modes. To access Max, you simply tighten the bezel. To access Moonlight, you just loosen the bezel a half-turn. That's it.
You can also cycle through the Quark's other modes just as easily. Lightly depress the button momentarily (you don't need to 'click' it off) and the output will switch to the next mode. The mode sequence is determined by whether the bezel is tightened or loosened:
Loosened Bezel: Moonlight -> Low -> Medium -> High -> SOS -> Beacon
Tightened Bezel: Max -> Strobe
Once the Quark has been turned off for at least three seconds, it will revert to the first level of output in the sequence, either Moonlight or Max.
Got my package. the lights were practically new. everything was perfect. The headband wasn’t a totally perfect fit for my hc50 but it will work in a pinch. Thanks!
I did unscrew the D20’s tail ring enough at one point to allow the light to function as expected, but I didn’t like the ring being loose. I’m glad it works well for you, and I’m thrilled to hear the tint is better than expected, given your high-CRI preference.
I’m glad the Icon will also get used for a culinary purpose!
Enjoy, and thank you again for giving the torches a new home.
Then checked, and found the pill could be tightened down deeper.
That let me retighten the tail ring a bit more, while still letting the light work to turn off normally.
Im guessing the pill had unscrewed simply from the battery friction when changing batteries. And I learned the tailring can not be tightened down fully, or the light wont turn off.
both the tail ring and pill were relatively easy to rotate, Ive chosen not to change that yet. Because Im preserving the option to swap the LED.
Ive become more tolerant of differences lately. Im even appreciating the cool white carrot grater, simply for its histerical significance…
I envision myself in full ninja mode, ready to flash and dash, the SureFire way… :partying_face:
you have brought many smiles into my world, thank you for your generosity in sharing these lights with me
