Power is connected before the signal tube for the switch, so holding the switch doesnāt work. You have to do 13H. If it doesnāt work, the light does not have factory reset. Lumintop was very late with using a newer firmware.
From off, try 13 fast clicks and hold the last one. The led should do something.
Or try 13 fast clicks and hold on the 12th or 14th one.
I donāt have the later model, so Iām not sure.
From Toykeeper: From a regular āoffā state, click 13 times and hold the last click for a few seconds. Then keep holding the button for 3 seconds. The light should flash an increasingly bright warning, during which time the user can let go to abort without any changes. Then after 3 seconds, it gives a bright flash and fades back to nothing. This indicates the reset has completed.
I donāt remember where, but I read in forum that I have to press the switch for 3 seconds after screw tailcup.
There is a mode for understand if my fw3a is compatible with reset or not?
Itās unknown. Maybe newer ones have it, but older ones are still being sold from their inventory. You would need to do the 13H to find out if yours has it or not.
I love my fw3a deep carry clips, and have about 3 extra at all times for other lights they fit on as well as if I buy a new fw3a. But I have had the āreturnā part of the clip catch on things and pull away from the rest of clip, permanently bending it, happen multiple times. It just happened right now, getting into my car, here is a picture of what I mean:
I usually just end up cutting the return part off with an angle grinder, sanding the edges and moving on. Anyone else have this happen to them? Is it just me? I have other clips that have returns on them like this, and they get caught on things, but never permenently bend like the fw3a clip . Itās really annoying whe it happens and it always happens to me, this clip is about 2 weeks old and now Iām averaging 100% of the time I use a new fw3a deep carry, I bend the return out and āruinā it. I have heated it and Bent it back into place before, but it just keeps happening. I wonder if these clips arenāt hardened steel like others may be? Any info would be awesome. Thank you.
