Here is my Question and an important part of my decision for a light.WHEN does the thermal regulation start? Temp.?
I have asked Manker 3X for some of their lights regarding this.NO RESPONSE.
On the other hand I am 2 out of 3 with Acebeam. There L19 steps down at 60C along with the K65GT.
I know this Skylumen guy will sometimes put his driver in to elimate that step down.I am not paying $75 to $100 additional for that and a small current bump.
With that SBT90.2 which gets hot.I would bet MAX of 3 minutes. Probably steps down 2 in summer.
Manker finally got it right with the UI. Just a pity the E14 III has a low mode of 180 lumen! Even with the SBT90.2 the got the low mode under 100 lumen. Very excited about this light…
With new UI is it possible to eliminate ramping moon modes?
IMO the moons are ridiculous to have on a Thrower. All it does is get in the way on my MC13
Also, Manker 18650 cells are longer… What other cells fit this light with proper spring tension, without solder blobs or using magnets ?
Edit: viewed Vinhs photos on CPF. Do the batts load all in parallel?
Yeah, I’m not all that excited about Mankers new UI. The moons on E14III, the 2 lowest are useless. Tho not sure how it will be with SBT90
Also I am beginning to hate proprietary batteries
It’s a general UI that makes a lot of sense to me. One click to on or off, hold to cycle modes while on, and while off or on double click for turbo. That’s all I really need in a flashlight.
Everyone has been complaining about moonlight being too high. Now Manker offers you a choice where you should be able to find your sweetspot. I think the problem is the general ‘low’ mode not being low enough…. it should have been somewhere between between 50 and 80 lumen. Now you have this big jump from moon to low. On the E14 III at least.
blueb8llz, I emailed Vinh, he said Turbo can only be activated by a double click, memory only works for the lower modes. The light is available on his site.
