Nitecore TIKI LE Problem

Unfortunately I have a problem with the flashlight. Two months after purchase, the battery lasts a very short time, after a few hours it discharges even without use. The seller is Shenzhen Lights & Lighting Store https://www.aliexpress.com/store/5404070?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.cad85c0fr2pOER We does not respond to messages. It turns out to be a common problem, what do you advise?

Claim via Paypal, or credit card which ever you paid with - if you paid with another method, you probably are stuck with it as is.
I doubt all would be lost - pretty sure someone on here would be able to help you find the fault and fix it, as to whether it would be worth it cost wise is another question.

I would contact Nitecore directly?

Charge battery, disconnect from circuit. Measure voltage, than measure again after 24 hours.
If drops, replace battery.

I think it will be hard to replace the battery in the TIKI LE. The problem is strange because it is enough to connect to the charger for a while and it lights up again.

Unscrew crown, can be glued.

Thanks for the information. Do you think the battery is available for purchase?

They are buying it somewhere
I was replacing battery in Nitecore tube, so that one should be available too.

I had a battery die on a Nitecode TIKI after a couple of months.
It seemed the battyery was leaking from the end that’s wedged against the main LED and gets quite hot. I think its an assembly problem there is room for the battery to be at least 1mm back from the main LED . That would spare the battery from alot of heat. But it seems that when the electronics are pushed into the casing the battery moves “up” against the LED.

Opening the light without brakingit is difficult. The cap is screwed on AND the thread is glued with superglue. I destroyed it while trying to open. You may get lucky if you heat the metal cap a little to loosen the glue ( but it seems to be superglue/Cyanoacrylate so wont soften much) and “work” the cap a bit to crack the glue.

I have 4 Tiki’s (Not LE) in the house for about 1.5 years and so far I’ve had no issues with them. Maybe I’m just lucky. But I would definitely try to contact Nitecore directly to see what they say.

Hi. Replace Linear Charge IC TP4055. This chip is faulty and is draining the battery.
