KC1 keychain light is available now

I’m thinking about ordering a D4v2 copper with e21a 3500k high cri with warm white as button backlight. I’d like to film a review on it. Anyone have this model? how durable is the rubber boot for the button? i was thinking of also getting a raised bezel and the 18350 tube. thoughts?

I have the brass version, it is my first d4v2. I’ve had it for a couple of months and pocket carry it everyday. It’s solid. I’ve dropped it enough times and it’s fine. The button is fine but too early to tell of its durability.

The time has come for me to order my second KR4. I have the sst20 5000k now. I want to order another because I want a high cri. Can anyone help with suggestions? I only have 2 hi cri lights now, both sst20 4000k.

I’m torn between the sst20 4000k, e21 4500k and e21 3500k…

The E21A 2000K is my favorite. Although I have a D18 with an even mix of 2700 and 4000 SST’s that’s awesome

Thanks!

You simply can’t go wrong with E21A 3500K.

This is good info. Part of me is slightly “concerned” of the lower lumen rating of the e21’s, but I mean it still is like 1200 lumens right? That is enough for edc really

Even 400-500 lm is enough for EDC (in most cases). I have Skilhunt H03 fitted with 4000K and 5000K E21A (4 emitters per headlamp), and from day one, those are the most carried/used flashlights of mine.

I am not sure though, how much lumens do the modified Skilhunt H03 and/or the D4V2 output.

If you need a “power EDC”, then I might suggest Astrolux MF01S Mini (7× SST-20 4000K with 26650 battery) - or I’d wait for restock of the D4SV2 (4× SST-20 4000K, but with more throwy optics - a favorite from LEDiL).

I actually switched all the GU10 bulbs in my office to 2000K today. I’m addicted to this color temp

I too used to chase lumens. I have several lights over 10,000 in 6500K and the 100,000 lumen MS18. My very first non 6500 light was the ~3300K D18 and I’ll probably never get a 6500 again.

Adam & photon - thank you. I really appreciate the information and suggestions. I think I’m going to try the 3500k kr4. I just put a sst20 2700k in my amutorch sd3 little mini C8 style thrower and it is AWESOME. I Put a 4000k sst20 in my Astrolux C8 a couple days back and now I notice two th8ngs- the 2700k throws further and looks brighter, I don’t know if it has to do with the drivers of each light BC the reflectors are the same size. Secondly, the 2700k makes the 4000k look like a 6500k light which I def8tnely wasn’t expecting. I’d love to go 2000k for the kr4, but honestly I’m worried i will literally ruin all of my other lights appeal… I think that is the biggest reason 8 haven’t made the jump to an e21 light yet, I don’t want to fall out of love with all of my lights ive accrued in the last year… anyone have that problem?

Wow you’re really making me want to buy some more lights even though I got 3 today (:

Just went for a night walk with two of my 9.3’s. Have to say, the E21A 2700K / Osram yellow is not very impressive. Not sure what I’ll use the dim yellow Osram for and the and 2700 is too warm for my taste
On the other hand, the light with the XP-L HI V2 5D 4.000K on channel 1 is awesome. First time I’ve seen this emitter and I really see why people love it so much. Tons of power! The red on CH2 is good too although as others have mentioned, not quite as impressive outside as it is indoors

This is GOOD info for me, im sorry to hear about the little bit of a let down, but thank you for sharing. helps the rest of us. If you could maybe post a beam shot of any of them that’d be cool too :+1:

Awesome! I should also mention that the The “indoor K9.3” I got is awesome – just what I was hoping for. Black with red switch, 2000K E21A and red on CH2. Maybe I’ll gift the 2700/Osram yellow and buy a replacement (:

I’m available for gifting.

why would anyone wants yellow emitters, for what purpose ?

Ya after getting Osram Yellow on CH2 I’m asking myself that exact question.

Now if you mean something like the E21A 2000K, that’s different… awesome for indoor use

Hah. When stock was running out for the aluminum versions I had the thought that a titanium or copper run was probably in the works.

I got them to help preserve night vision at very low levels since I don’t care much for monochromatic LEDs. Might be nice for reducing glare in fog too.

Honestly, I wasn’t really sure what else to put in there because with E21A on Ch1, the SST options wouldn’t really be all that useful and I don’t have any use for the green either. So that leaves the FY.

Would have been cool to see slightly larger diameter lenses for the three Ch2 emitters and an option for NM1.TG, but that would have increased the head diameter. I think it’s fine the way it is now and Ch2 is just a nice gimmick to fill in some empty space in the optic.

This is what I feel too. Nm1 white on ch2 would probably have me buying it. Would be nice complement to a warm channel 1 IMO
