Review: XinTD C8 (SC-82)

New version of the xintdC8!

How will the longer reflector affect the beam? Will the V3 have more throw?

It would probably throw more.

Tempted to get this but I'll wait for someone else's view. Throw is fine as is on this kind of light IMO, infact I'd prefer a slightly floodier, smoother beam

I have the V2 C8, would the V3 be a significant upgrade or it would be better off getting another light?

I stand to be corrected but I doubt there will be much difference at all. I'd suspect perhaps a tighter hotspot and a little more throw. What are you looking for in your next light?

I recently received my V3 and like it alot. Highest quality I've held in my hands in the C8 configuration. With a Redilast 2900 I get 2.75 at the tail. But I will have to contact Hank about a little problem I'm having with the switch. Whenever the tail cap is removed and replaced, the light only has high mode. The only way to get it to work properly and have 3-modes is to bang the light into my hand, and all works greats until the cap is removed and replaced and that operation must be repeated. I took apart and cleaned all components in the switch, but it didn't make a difference.

I'm sure mine is just a 1 in 100 glitch and I highly recommend this light.

Any chance of a beam shot Richie?

Sure thing Jeansy. I'll have it posted in about 8 hours when it gets dark. I'll post it up against my Fandyfire HD-2010, even though that may not be fair, but I think it would still be interesting to see.

Cool, nothing unfair about that, the XinTD won't win the lumen contest but I'd be interested how it compares other ways too, ie tint and PWM. Thanks for doing this :)

Here's some beam shots of my new XinTD C8 V3 NW tint from IOS. It's not a shootout, but just tossed in my Fandyfire HD-2010 and Skyray 3xT6 3800 rev.O for some sort of comparision. Distance to shrubs is 50 feet on this one.

Fandyfire HD-2010 with a well adjusted reflector for focused beam.

Skyray 3xT6 3800 Rev. O. With fully charged Genuine Trustfire flames 2400mAh, it flickered off after about 3 minutes, but got the shot just in time.

Looking for more throw probably. I have a cheap zoomie xre q5 light and it throws better and more intense light (although square in shape) when focused. The C8 overwhelms it with loads of light and spill but the the q5 is brighter compared to the c8's hotspot. I would like something that would eat the q5. Lol!

Great shots Richie, thanks. I'll have to double check how my v2(I assume) looks to make a comparison, I think it holds it's own there, the HD will out throw by quite a margin but look how useable the c8 beam is for closer range use :)

Mertinator, perhaps there is your answer, the HD2010 sounds ideal for you, another plus (in my books at least) is that it's a 26650 battery type, so it will prob outrun the C8 with both on high (HD prob draws more so not directly increased with capacity)

Hi Jeansy, I think you hit the nail on the head with your observation.

Oh my, I love the beam on the HD2010!

how much force is needed to unscrew the reflector from the pill? it seems to be too tight to be unscrewed with bare hands on mine and i dont want to damage it.

sorry to bump this up. But i am having the same issue. The reflector isn’t moving at all i tried applying loads of force to unscrew it but nothin happened.

Which one would be brighter the KD c8 or XinTD?

i got it apart with wrapping a thin towel around and just trying harder
it is my most used light for several month now…but one question is left: after gettimg a bump mine changes the mode to some sort of beacon/ blinking mode, although i have the three mode low med high version…one click and it starts again from low. any ideas why this happens?

i got mine today from intl-outdoor, ordered on 29.12. sent on 1.1.2013 (so i was told) and recieved it today 16.1.2013.
It has no flaws, and the threads are slightly lubed. I like the 3 mode, wish all lights were like this one
