FREEME ✌ ASTROLUX EA01 SST40 (2300lm)/ XHP50.2 (3500lm) TIR 26650/ 26350 Flashlight Group Buy - ALIVE!

Honestly I don’t know. But having played about with the Lumintop FW21 Pro which has 3 x XHP50.2 I really don’t think it is worth it. The MF01 Mini is a way better out doors light. I’m guessing 4 x XHP50.2 would have no beam distance at all and just be a lot of heat for too much light close up.

I think people get too easily suckered in by the lumen numbers.

Honestly, i really appreciate this feedback. I also have the fw21 pro and actually was comparing the two head sizes a couple minutes ago. They’re the same. I think it will just be way to hot, maybe to the point of causing issues for the electronics or just simply unusable. And I agree about being suckered into the lumen count. That was why I was trying to justify it! But it’s crazy, it’ll only be that bright for 10-30 seconds and it’ll be to hot to use I’d imagine. And I really don’t have any need for the sst40 version either because it will probably be the same as the mf01 mini, without aux lights and good cri. So yea… thanks chicken drumsitck

Astrolux EA01 (1 LED Version) wont get as hot as MF01 Mini

but the Mateminco Quad LED probably will.

The quad XHP50 is more of a “novelty item” for sure. From practical perspective I dont really see a reason why I would need one. Not only the XHP50’s have one of the ugliest tint shift from all LEDs, having four of them in such a small host would mean miserable heat handling. To reach any decent distance one would need running it in high mode, meaning poor battery life. Why not to go all out and make one with quad XHP70?

@ Dioda

little bit Offtopic. The Haikelite HK04 has 4x XHP50 it shoots like 12.000 Lumen with little Throw because Reflectors. Its getting more Amps from those 3x 18650 compared to 1x 26650 from EA01 anyway even its twice the size of EA01 it gets really hot after 1 minute in Turbo.

Thanks all. I also have the hk04 but in sst40 abd that thing gets hot, having even those in this host would be crazy

Freeme-

I have been thinking about this all day. I can’t help but consider the Ea01 as the single led version of the mf01 mini.

This EA01 would be so awesome with aux leds on the mcpcb. I think with the TIR it would help blend the individual rgb leds to look like one solid color coming out of the head.

If they ever do a version 2.0 or some other specialty offering (like how they made the ft03 mini with aux leds on the board), please suggest they add rgb aux leds in the mcpcb. Would put this light over the top! And I’d definitely pay extra for that!

Thanks again for this awesome deal Freeme!

I thought about this aswell but i didnt get the idea to ask you if it is possible to suggest this to Astrolux/Mateminco

Like EA01s Single LED but with additional aux Led

I would also pay extra

No matter what but i want the quad xhp…but still only blue body and no neutral tint yet…since when was the quad xhp available please?i dont know about this flaslight before…

I think about a month on AX

Yes! The ea01s, that would be perfect. I would buy two more, the sst40 and xhp50 again

Looks like Banggood is taking a much longer than usual time to respond to my Astrolux EA01 (SST40) with “bluish-purple beam on Turbo mode” problem… No response, other than an automated ‘customer service’ template response, since I reported the issue to them 3 days ago…

In my experience they don’t initially respond to emails, I don’t know about Messenger. If you choose the “online customer service” option you can choose a category, enter your specific problem and a button appears that allows you to switch to a live person. After that, communication is by email. That worked for me. Be sure to reject their first offer and insist on a replacement.

From messenger you will redirected to their live customer service…two years of using and no problem.

The TIR optic is great for these LED’s and head size

That’s actually a great picture. The SST40’s more focused beam is very clear.

Thank you zoulas ! The effective beam of the sst40 really has the same effect as a small sbt90 thrower, just with half the lumens, but much better color.

I took one with the sst40 next to mf01 mini and d4sv2… both in sst20 5000k

Thanks.

How do they compare at distance and closer up. I’m really liking the SST-40 version I’ve got. But kind of curious how the XHP50 looks too.

Here is one comparison I took last night, not great but shows the difference on flood. Doesn’t show difference in distance. I’d say the is a visible 30%-ish difference in usable throw. Xhp50 is really worth it, I think all things alconsidered I like it more. Give more usable light with still good throw. Only thing I don’t like about xhp50 is the color.

Note- the road (@ end of driveway) is approximately 50 meters out

Thanks for the beam shots. I like the 50 as hot spots are distracting for walking. My FT03 SST40 is a great thrower but I can’t get used to using it for everyday light.
