I agree as to how nice they are. I have a real affinity for them. But, as someone stated I think the battery size tube will hold them back a little, but mostly I think the PRICE will hold them back from ever being as popular as the ec01. Abd I like the ea01 more then the ec01. But I feel what has made the ec01 so popular is how solid of a performer it is, anduril, usbc AND you can get them for $22 many times a year… that’s hard to compete with…
BUT, you’re right they are going to be around for awhile
I don’t get it. Its $44 with coupon and it takes 26650, 2100, and 18650 batteries. It also takes 26350 and comes with matching tube. How is the battery size holding it back?
I’m starting to like this light. Same as some other lights from astrolux…
Really like the blue color. Only downside is that the led choices are not really what I want.
The ‘warmest’ xhp50.2 might be to cool for me. But that probably won’t hold me back for long.
Sorry, yea that doesn’t make sense what I said, I meant the larger diameter of the battery tube COULD hold some people back from buying it. As the ec01’s smaller (although nit much smaller) battery tube may lend itself more toward edc. But you make a good point, the versatility of the ea01 tube is more desirable I’d say
Good picture to compare, thank you! Was thinking of ordering the MF01 Mini, but read there are too many problems with heat sink unfortunately. EA01 will be much better on that for sure.
I ordered my mf01 mini 3 months ago and the heat sink that came in it from BG is brass. I was part of The thread for the custom copper heat sinks here on blf, but ended up no needing one bc astrolux APPEARS To have fixed the problem. I remember others saying their new mf01 mini came with the copper brass as well in that thread. The mf01 mini is another home run light by Astrolux
The MINI is quite good IMO. I think the heatsink issue is fixed in the current ones, I got one a few months ago and it had the brass heatsink (although fitted the wrong way round). But it does get HOT, simply due to what it is.
The EA01 is a far more versatile torch IMO. And due to being a single emitter it pulls a lot less amps on High or Turbo. And thusly a lot less heat to manage.
If you take the head off the battery tube and underneath the head where the positive battery contact is it is surrounded by white plastic then you have the plastic insert. Not brass
